I'm trying to find some old stories written by Lucy, specifically her "Summer at Pemberley," but can't find them in the archives anywhere. I was wondering what happened to them or if anyone knows where I can find the story somewhere online.by SarahC. - Tea Room
I'm pretty sure this is a story written by an author named Lucy. I'm not sure if her stories are still available online.by SarahC. - Tea Room
A very sweet little ending. I do like the exchange of letters, in very Austen-like style, to give us a glimpse into the future and how everything turns out for everyone. Thank you for this story!by SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I like this Captain Turley! I do question his sense in wanting to marry Lydia but he certainly appears to be more than she deserves. (About the only good thing that can be said of Lydia and Wickham is that they deserve each other.) Darcy is a sweetheart, always willing to step in to do what he can for Elizabeth's peace of mind. I think my favorite part of this chapter though might have to beby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Oh so lovely. I do like to see them talking like this, so frankly. It's such a change from the misunderstandings of the last few chapters! Why do I have a feeling that Elizabeth deciding to wait for Lydia and Kitty to return will come back to bite her? Or at least, Lydia coming back will. I hope, at least, that Elizabeth's promise to talk to Darcy will be enough to hopefully prevent whaby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Aww, they're writing love letters to each other! Grinning from ear to ear at the sweetness of it. Looking forward to seeing more of Jane and Bingley's reaction, which I hope we'll see! They're going to be so thrilled. And a Lydia/Wickham twist! Well, whatever it is, as long as Darcy and Elizabeth retain their current understanding, I won't be nervous about it.by SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Oh what a chapter of accidents! And yet for all that, at least she's finally admitted her feelings and they've come to an understanding (of sorts). I thought the Miss Cornish story would turn out to be something similar (very like Anne of Green Gables and Gilbert, again!) I'm a little surprised that Elizabeth tried to justify herself and her terrible mistake to him since it seemed like she'dby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Oh my God, I can't believe you just left it there!! Cruel thing! After all Elizabeth's (admittedly well-deserved) self reproaches, when Darcy has finally appeared and to be her rescuer for real, you just leave it like that?! Oh how could you! I'm going to be dying of impatience until Tuesday.by SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
A cousin! I hadn't expected that. somehow, I"d assumed in my head that Miss Jarling might well have been introduced to our Darcy but had in her own silliness and eagerness taken commonplace attentions to be much more, building it all up into her head into some grand romance like a teenage girl can do. But a cousin, this makes even more sense. But really, I still think that Elizabeth was beinby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
As painful as all this is, I am glad that Darcy is finally pushing back a little at Elizabeth's behavior. From his standpoint, she is being terribly unfair, snubbing him like this with no reason that he knows of--and she is being unfair to not even think to ask for his side of the story. I can understand that she's hurt and angry but really, what possible reason could Darcy have for faking hisby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Oh how could you! I'm guessing that Miss Jarling is young and inexperienced and took Mr. Darcy's common politeness to be actual courting and embroidered on it freely and now Mrs. Jarling is exaggerating it or basing it on Miss Jarling's version of the story! I'm trying to justify Elizabeth's trust of Lady Catherine's word--she has quite a bit of motive to lie about the "engagement" between hby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Oho, as promising as it is that Elizabeth's feelings are so engaged now that she's jealous and willing to encourage Mr. Darcy, I have to wonder what Mr. Darcy is thinking to pay such attention to Miss Cornish. He has to realize that his behavior would give rise to gossip about him and Miss Cornish and I can't believe that he's paying attention to her to make Elizabeth jealous or something. Nor cby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I am interested in seeing more of Mrs. Everett. I rather wish she'd said a little more about Wickham's perfidy but I suppose it would hardly have been proper at the dinner table and yes, I suppose Elizabeth is cleverer than that, at least in this story! Oh Elizabeth and her tongue, complimenting Darcy's looks like that! I hope it encourages him a little to believe her opinion of him is imprby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Now this is interesting and promising! It's good that Elizabeth and Darcy are talking and more comfortable. I really like that Darcy finally confessed everything to Bingley (dear Bingley, to be so willing to ban Darcy from his house on Elizabeth's behalf) as Darcy, as we know, hates disguise of any sort. He needed to get that out there and be frank before they can move forward. Love Elizabby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Well, at least this Mr. Honton, however disagreeable he might be, served some purpose in getting Darcy and Elizabeth to dance--and talk again! Darcy stepping in to rescue Elizabeth is a good way of evening things between them a little, I hope, small as the gesture is. And he's somewhat obliquely told her he still loves her! Which is a little faster than I was expecting, I admit, but I hope itby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
As to Mary and Mr. Collins, I don't think they're a "perfect couple' in the sense of real feeling but more in the sense that they're both equally dull and not really capable of actual love so I think they're more compatible to co-exist together, at least more than Mr. Collins and Charlotte. Mary isn't smart enough, in my view, to notice that Mr. Collins is an idiot; she seems like she'll happilyby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
This was charming. I like seeing these glimpses into Captain Wentworth and Anne's past, as poignant as it always is, knowing the ending of their first brief engagement. His teasing is so cute.by SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Oh this is an interesting variation! But first things first, I'm glad that Darcy apologized so fully. Hopefully it does clear up the tension between him and Elizabeth for when they meet again. Elizabeth's feelings towards Darcy are very understandable but I really wonder how they're ever going to move forward from this because I can't imagine Darcy ever feeling comfortable enough to approachby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Well, that certainly answers some concerns but it raises a whole bunch of others. I have a hard time imagining how Darcy and Elizabeth will ever be able to interact naturally again and certainly I can't imagine Darcy ever feeling at ease to pursue Elizabeth in any way, considering his guilt. Mr. Collins and Mary do seem like a perfect couple and I'd love to see how Mary deals with Lady Catherineby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Oh my God! I have to admit I'm frankly shocked at how much Darcy is persisting because his constant importuning of Elizabeth seems to be edging over the line of courtesy and becoming too forceful. (Also his arrogance is, even for Darcy standards, amazing.) This might be the first time ever that I'm really finding Darcy's behavior to be rather disturbing. But Elizabeth! Of course I trustby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I'm so glad to see you're writing again! I've been away from DWG for a while and decided to stop in randomly today and I'm so glad I did because I'd hate to have missed this! It is interesting that Darcy is proposing so impulsively and not taking months to fight his feelings as he did in canon. I have a bad feeling that Wickham appearing on the scene after Darcy proposes will lead to quiteby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Beautiful. And very nice to see a fic written about Edmund and Fanny too.by SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
A very nice defense of Bingley and it's nice to see him get the chance to tell his story in his own words!!by SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
As if this wasn't quite sweet and adorable enough, that last line had me laughing out loud. Nice job! (And can I ask, just exactly what is on that inscription on the bench that, I'm assuming, is at Pemberley?)by SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
