There is a site https://janeaustensworld.wordpress.com/history-of-regency-england/. You´ll find a lot of links to other useful resources about many topics concerning the Regency era. Just scroll down and explore the links.by Dorothee - Tea Room
Perhaps a look at Sharon Lathan´s blog/website will be helpful. She recently had a series of articles about servants and sometimes she adds titles of books that are related to the article.by Dorothee - Tea Room
I´m sure that I learnt Mary is taller than him at school. Also: She is friendlier than me but She is friendlier than I am. However, that was about 55 years ago and languages changes .... I agree with Lily´s wish for a higher authority to set the rules like we have the DUDEN. Perhaps one should listen to the Queen and follow the grammar she uses. LOLby Dorothee - Tea Room
Lily, I don´t know whether it is a consolation: the same happens to me very often and there is also the issue with "whom", "whose" as well as "I" instead of "me". Unfortunately I hadn´t the time to read the article JanetR mentioned (I will do that as soon as there is a gap in my schedule). However, I thank you for asking the question. I suppose it is the difference between Queen´s English what weby Dorothee - Tea Room
Thank you ever so much for your hard work and for compiling this list.by Dorothee - Tea Room
Coming back from a trip I just found that you are back. Great!by Dorothee - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Since I started reading FanFiction I have become used to Col. Richard Fitzwilliam, Fanny Bennet, Thomas Bennet, Edward Gardiner, Madeline Gardiner and the Matlocks. I must admit that it feels very, very strange when author(esses) have them have different names. Perhaps, my brain is no longer that flexible as it was in the past ... However, I can manage well enough when their characters differ butby Dorothee - Tea Room
I remember the beginning: it rains cats and dogs and Lizzy seeks shelter at a fishing cabin belonging to her father. On her way she meets Darcy whom she startles so that he is thrown from his horse. They have no choice but to stay at the cabin together. Darcy tells parts of his (?) and Georgiana´s history with Wickham so that they reach a better understanding of each other. Does this ring a bell?by Dorothee - Tea Room
My feelings are mixed because my enjoyment was hampered by my constant hope that there might be a way for Darcy and Lizzy and then the final disappointment that D & E didn´t end up together. However, I am one of those People who really need a HEA for Darcy and Lizzy.by Dorothee - Tea Room
My best wishes to everyone for the New Year. May it bring only happiness and joy to all of you. I´d also like to say THANK YOU to all authoresses who shared their talent with us and I hope they´ll be as generous next year as they were this year. Also, a big thank you to the moderators who work hard to keep this site working. Dorotheeby Dorothee - Tea Room
I´m not sure that I do understand your question. It seems to me that there was a kind of sparks between them or perhaps something like love at first sight. Those emotions usually don´t ask for the things you have listed but they ask for overcoming the attributes that are disturbing because the good and desirable seen in the other is stronger than the considerations you mention even if it takes somby Dorothee - Tea Room
Me too, for both of them.by Dorothee - Tea Room
Thank you, Margaret and Janet. I suppose it it The Annoying Truth.by Dorothee - Tea Room
All I remember is that Lizzy proposes to Darcy. Does this ring a bell? Thank you.by Dorothee - Tea Room
Just when I thought about askaing what happened to this story the question has come up. Does anybody know whether the author will post here?by Dorothee - Tea Room
For readers whose mother tongue is not English it is better to use "that". Germans, in particular, profit from its use.by Dorothee - Tea Room
Thank you for this update on your story´s progress. Hope your kids are well and cheerful - means they don´t bother their mum too much.by Dorothee - Tea Room
