This chapter reminds me of an incident in my first year as an undergraduate in London - in the halls of residence next to mine, a boy jumped out of a first floor* window (allegedly because his girlfriend had dumped him) of a typical Georgian style house and landed on the spikes of the area railing below. Thankfully in this case he survived.

I've been loving this story! I suppose it's all drawing to a close now - I'll be sorry to see it go but thank you for a very entertaining story.

*in this case 'first floor' is in British usage i.e. first floor above ground level
