What a beautiful chapter!
I especially enjoyed how in this chapter you have matured Lydia and made her look a bit differently towards men who are prone to flatter and compliment in order to make a young girl feel as if she is loved. As parents we need to be more diligent in warning our daughters of such men. Hey, maybe introduce them to Pride and Prejudice by reading it together nightly? When it gets to the Wickham parts, a mom can expand it a bit to translate it into modern day vernacular and include social media so a daughter can recognize the potential harm!
Why haven't I thought of that before? All teen girls love a great romance story and I doubt many schools are teaching the greats such as P&P these days. A nightly reading of a few pages of P&P would be a great bonding experience for a mom and young teen daughter. Too many schools and libraries recommend books with vivid and lurid sexual encounters rather than recommending books with the quiet and growing admiration that the journey of true love actually takes while growing. We have taken all the mystery out of the experience of both love and sex. That is such a shame!
I can tell your story's journey is almost at an end so let me take this opportunity to let you know how much I've enjoyed it. It has been a wonderful reading experience. I hope you write another one soon because I'm going to miss this one!
