Poor Mr Gardiner! Will he ever recover enough to enjoy again life and his four children? Of course his great loss is still so fresh.
I'm glad Mrs Bennet seems to really care for him and his children. Mary has a difficult task, helping him to gain again his strength (besides caring for the children and his house).
At first I felt a little, but very little pity for Mr John, as he didn't directly kill anyone (that we know). None of pity for Blackwell. But the former did contribute to cause so much damage and sorrow, not forgetting he had planned to kill Lizzy if they found her in the woods. He alone brought that final to himself.
Kitty the heroine, also in Hertfordshire! She better makes the most of it while it lasts. She's right she's not the same girl who left Longbourn several months ago. She even made Mr Bennet proud of her (the same Mr Bennet who used to say she was a silly girl). I hope she keeps her friendship with Miss Riley, and through her, with her brother, who got along so well with her, and seems so good an influence in her life.
Thank you very much for updating. As always, I look forward to the next installment.
