Elizabeth put herself into danger but Kitty saved the day!
I can't blame Elizabeth anyway, you have to be in her shoes at that precise moment to know how you will react. She obviously thought she could close the door in time, but I think she would have been safer under the couch, although who knows what this John guy would had done in that case. Perhaps try to hide himself under a couch when he heard the sheriff's men coming.
So the plan of all the highwaymen was actually kill Elizabeth, and Blackwell was the one to do the dirty thing? If so, these men really deserve to hang.
What happened to the fourth guy?
Thank you for this very satisfying, awesome chapter. And yes, Elizabeth slip of the tongue at saying "our children" is adorable.
