I had trouble understanding what happened in the paragraph that starts with "Both Dr. Figueroa's golf game [...]" What was the referral paperwork? Who did not open it? (Figueroa or somebody at the uni? And why on earth would an uni not open an application, if so?) And how do wagers or regular business dealings come into the story (for this specific paragraph)? I don't understand. I can't tell if Figueroa was forgetful or revengeful or irrelevant to this part. I understand that as Enrique reduced his hours there one of two scenarios are possible: Figueroa was in a sense revengeful and Enrique wishes to quit his job or Figueroa is irrelevant and Enrique is simply looking for flexible hours.
In short, I don't understand what happened with Catalina's studies. She went to a local school and applied for a transfer, right? And then?
