Great chapter – thanks for posting early. You gave an unexpected lift to my day.
So, did they deliver an invitation to the elder Fennimores? I can't wait to find out their reaction. My guess is that the mother finally puts her foot down and insists on attending.
Is it too much to hope for another early chapter? Please? As a Christmas present?
One little thing I wanted to mention. If Richard really wants to marry by special license, he has a better chance of obtaining it than Darcy. In 1759, the Archbishop of Canterbury issued a regulation that limited the granting of special licences to "persons of the rank of peers or peeresses in their own right, their sons and daughters, dowager peeresses, privy councillors, the judges, baronets, knights, and members of parliament" [although he retained the right to make exceptions in his discretion]. Richard is the son of a peer so he should be able to get a special license easily whereas Darcy is only the grandson of a peer.
