Terrific chapter. I just wish someone would visit the best solicitor in the city and start working on protecting Anne's rights. Unless Lady Catherine is able to prove that Anne is mentally impaired -- something very difficult to do at the time [and now] -- Anne has reached her majority and there should be very little Lady Catherine can do to capture her daughter and bring her to Rosings. Anne is an independent woman or feme sole. She is able to make legal contracts, own property, control her money, etc. Only married women had their rights restricted.
