Oh dear.....

I think everyone was a bit infuriating, in this chapter.

Emma had noble intentions for pretending to be offended by Frank's behavior. But, I can't help but think that she just made things worse for Frank. Her pretense of anger just reinforced Mrs. Churchill's belief that Emma had cared for Frank at one point, which didn't help Frank's case in arguing that they had never shared anything beyond friendship.

George was infuriating in his condescension, and I appreciated Emma's responses to him.

Frank slightly matured in this chapter, in acknowledging that he should not depend on Emma to resolve all of his problems and in his attempt to finally be honest with Mrs. Churchill. However, he should have had this conversation with her much earlier.

I'm very interested to see where this story goes!
