Darcy's dying hopes are always so painful to read. I want to pat him on the shoulder and assure him that all will be well...not that he would believe me or appreciate that gesture, even if it were possible!

I hope Elizabeth is able to thoroughly convince him that she does not hold him responsible for the actions of Wickham or Lydia.

It hadn't occurred to me that he might interpret her comment about Georgiana's friends deserting her as a reproach, but he could indeed see it that way. Poor man, feeling at this point that he can do nothing right. I am *so* ready to see him hopefully and then euphoric in the next chapter!
