Piece in Latest ALFRED HITCHCOCK MYSTERY MAGAZINE

October 04, 2017 06:48PM
The Sep/Oct issue of Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine includes an article of mine.

I was asked to select a story for the "Classics Crime" section, and chose one by Leslie T. White, a Southern California cop in the 1920's and '30's who, before Joseph Wambaugh was even born, was turning his experiences into fiction for the old-time pulp magazines. My article introduces one of his last cop stories, "Tough Guy," first published back in 1940.

Aside from introducing a great story that deserves to be remembered, it is, on a per word basis, the best pay I ever got for anything I've written.
