If I may be so bold, I endorse his suggestion, or to at least give that rule a re-think. As a reader, I get gusdustipated when I keep waiting for the next installment: And it never come! That happened when I was reading a story, title long forgot, but Col. Fitzwilliam was a major character and a woman he come to love. I forgot the bits of another story where the next segment never came. So as a result, I am a bit teaser-shy now when it come to stories-in-work. That is why the one story I posted, I already had it about 90% written, and yet editing the end still surprised myself.
Perhaps we could amend the rule to:
a. Start posting only when enough is ready to post. I suggest 85-90% because the measure still can be a WAG.
b. When posting a story, post as often as necessary to get the segments up. Am not sure what to do about the "push down" factor.
c. Post only one story within a period of time. Actually, this can work out to an average of the original rule. E.g., my story went up in about six (6) posts: Not counting the re-post, but maybe that is forgivable for a first time. Thererfore and by this rule, I would not be allowed to post a story for another six weeks. No problem, because not likely to have a story ready again within that time frame.
Thoughts?
