On Saturday,26 Sep 2015, at the Baltimore Comics Convention, the winners of the Harvey Awards, one of the two major awards for achievement in the comics industry (the other being the Eisner, which is given at the San Diego Comics Convention) were given.
In the category of "Best Syndicated Strip or Panel,"
Dick Tracy won for the third time in a row. Only two other strips have completed this particular hat trick (or, given that it's
Tracy, perhaps I should specify "snap-brim" fedora trick),
Calvin and Hobbes (which actually won seven in a row), and
Mutts (which also won three in a row, and has won a total of seven).
Tracy is still the only adventure strip, the only legacy strip (that is, a strip continued by writers and artists other than the creator/originator), and the oldest strip, ever to win in this category.
If you go here:

you can read more about it. There's also a picture of me, along with my Tracy associates, writer Mike Curtis, artist Joe Staton, and inker Shelley Pleger, accepting the award. I'm the one at the podium. It's not a great picture, and I can't figure out why they waited 'til I was at the podium instead of getting Mike or Joe.
