I'm sorry if you see it that way. I would hate to be offensive inadvertently. I, however, find it offensive to be referred to as 'Ms' as if nobody can be bothered to find out my marital status and treat me as a woman who is neither single nor married. It's an ambiguity and I find it unpleasant in the extreme because of the associations it had when I was growing up, when it was a new and shocking title for women who wanted to hide something.
