While I am not sure I agree with you, I am sure it is not a boring opinion. I posed the question because so much modern writing includes descriptions (sometimes really bad descriptions!)

I wonder if Jane would have been a woman of her times. I am trying to think of some modern writer who is successful who does not include strong allusions or outright descriptions of sex, such as you never find in a Jane Austen of the Regency book. Would Jane of today be different? Would she have to be?
