OTOH, precisely because she was a PK, it's possible that, like the Regency Jane (at least like the Jane her relatives portrayed), that she'd be, herself, devoutly religious, and, in consequence, if not sexually abstinent, at least not promiscuous.

A kind heart might make her somewhat leftist politically, but not necessarily (I like to think I have a kind heart, and, what's more, I went to one of the most left-wing universities in the US, the University of CA at Berkeley, and I was so conservative I thought Rush Limbaugh was dangerously radical. And I'm not even a PK).

Whatever her political or religious views, I like to think she'd be a story-teller of some kind, but, as Red suggests, not necessarily a novelist. Screenwriter or director, perhaps, though those are harder fields to break into than prose fiction).

While it might be limiting to describe her as a romance novelist, though all her books have a "boy-meets-girl; boy-loses-girl; boy-gets-girl" plot structure, so it's not precisely incorrect, either. In any case, whatever story-telling medium she used, I wonder whether she might choose a genre other than romance. Perhaps, like PD James, a novelist who admired her, she'd write crime fiction. Perhaps, having three brothers in the military service (this assumes that the family dynamics would be roughly parallel), she'd write military novels.

But perhaps, having opportunities denied to women in her own era, she'd choose a profession other than story-telling. Maybe, like her brothers, Henry, Francis, and Charles, she'd go into the military. Maybe she'd become an Anglican minister like her dad and two of her brothers. Maybe she'd become a businesswoman, like her brother Henry did after leaving the service. but before entering the clergy. She'd have a lot more options that real-life Jane.
