I wonder if we had more of it, whether it would change the image some have of her Jane as a sedate and quietly maidenly aunt. Still, with all of that said, maybe she would never write sex scenes.

The main points of that Redson, are that she didn't write sex scenes, and what she wrote in private letters were really no business of anyone else's. Why should we have, or even want more of her private corrspondence except for harmless, historical reference information? Would you wish your own private correspondence published publicly? At the risk of repitition, J.A's works have existed for two hundred years as pure enjoyable story-telling that didn't need "titillating" sexual inuendo. Character references from her family indicate that she was exactly that quiet maiden aunt respected by them all. Why try to make he a modern smut writer just to amuse ourselves?
