betas wanted

Hello, dear friends,
I know I haven't been around much lately, except occasionally on the discussion boards, but I have been working, every so slowly, on several stories. I have one that is nearing completion, but I'm struggling to find the motivation to finish it, so I thought it might be time to ask for some help. I've had excellent betas in the past, but it's been so long since I've worked with any of them that I don't feel I can just assume that they're still available. I really need betas for all purposes--to proof read, to give feedback on storyline, pacing, tone, etc, and to motivate me to finish. It's summer, and since my kids are out of school I am at home with them, which seems as a good a time as any to make a push. This story stands right now at a little over 37,000 words and probably needs anywhere from another 5-10,000 to finish it out. Once this one is done, I have others, both long and short, that are far from finished, but still pretty significantly advanced.
I have everything in Google docs now, so that should make sharing simple.
Thanks,
Lara

However, Presentation Manager and the applications needed a reinstall because the msft code did nasty things on a non-msft system), because it was NOT an OS/2 ap. It was the msft executable that google supply. I am using FFx, and it behave as bad as the msft version on eXtra Piggy.

Backing up data to a flash drive protect everything, and it is not out on the `net where it can get knicked. If you have Google Chrome (and maybe even if you don't?), then all you have to do is look up "my drive." You log in with your email address. You can create word documents, spreadsheets and powerpoint displays. Google saves everything for you, and since it's online you can log onto it from any computer, and you can share your docs with other people, to either edit, view or add comments. It's a pretty new thing to me. I started transferring a lot my stories into Google docs last year so that I could access them from multiple computers without having to carry a flash drive around with me. It also means you don't have to worry about your computer crashing and losing everything.

I've actually got as many betas as I think my story can take at this point. Dwiggies are the best!

As an illustration of how excellent volunteer dwiggie betas are, when I got Unequal Affections back from my editor the first time, she had made less than one correction per chapter. Not even kidding. That's how clean a manuscript in was, thanks in large part to the people I had beta'ing it for me (including the wonderful Sandy W).

I'll leave you a note here if I find myself running short again. Thanks, Eli!

I need a pusher, to tell the truth, probably more than I need anything else. And even basic proof reading is valuable--I've learned over the years that it's amazing what kind of mistakes I can miss, even in passages that I've been over twenty times. When you already know what it's supposed to say, some errors just become just like of invisible. Feedback of all sorts will be welcome.
