The day of the wedding between Jane and Bingley and Elizabeth and Darcy dawned bright. The Longbourn household was still asleep except of course for Jane and Lizzy, who were too nervous about the upcoming event. The past month of courtship for each woman had been full of surprise and anticipation. Both found things about their intendeds that they never knew. Today would be the day that their every dreams and wishes were to come true.

"Oh Jane, I can not wait until I finally become Mrs. Darcy. I love Fitzwilliam ever so dearly. I long for him and cannot bear to be apart from him." Elizabeth's eyes sparkled as she made this speech.

"That, you will not have to bear for much longer." Jane replied. "I have the same feelings. Tell me, how did Mr. Darcy propose to you? You never did tell me."

"Well, I started by thanking him for what he did for poor Lydia. He said that he was sorry that I found out about his involvement in that affair. He then continued by saying that his feelings remained unchanged since last April and he asked me about my feelings. I was so happy. I told him that my feelings were 'quite the opposite' of what they had been. We then became engaged." Lizzy explained.

"Oh Lizzy, I can't believe that I am getting married today with you beside me." Jane spoke up.

"Since we are both getting married today, Mama will have to split her time between the two of us. I don't think that I could bear having all of her attentions. These last few months have been enough." Both women started giggling, but were interrupted when Mrs. Bennet came bustling into the room.

"Oh girls, there is no time for chit chat. Your weddings are at noon, and there is still so much to prepare. Oh three daughters married. Quick, get dressed and come down to breakfast." Mrs. Bennet left the room and Lizzy and Jane went to get dressed. Once they were both dressed, they went down to breakfast, even though they were both too nervous to eat anything.

Meanwhile, back at Netherfield, Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley also rose early, for they could not sleep either. They joined each other for breakfast, but no conversation was started due to the fact that both of their minds were much more agreeably engaged elsewhere.

Mr. Darcy had been contemplating on the vision of his lovely betrothed when Bingley interrupted with a sigh. "Today we are to be married to two of the most beautiful women in the world, and here we are sitting about engulfed in day dreams. Who would have thought that this day would ever occur?"

"It is no surprise in your situation Bingley. You have always been good-tempered and everyone has always liked your manners. I on the other hand was proud and distant. Until Elizabeth came into my life, I had never known what it was like to open my heart and my mind. I had my mind set that I was not to be bothered by anyone under my station. I am happy to have changed my views. Who would have imagined me married at this time last year? I feel that I cannot bear to bear to be away from Elizabeth any longer or I will go mad. I love her more than my own life. I see her in everything I do." Realizing what he was saying, Darcy snapped out of his reverie and walked to the window. He looked out at the newly fallen snow. What a perfect day for a wedding. It was the first snow of the season. Since neither of the men were in the mood for breakfast and each other's minds were too distracted to carry on a conversation, they decided to return to their separate bedchambers to prepare for the upcoming event. As soon as Darcy entered his bedchamber, he went to the window. Once again, Elizabeth appeared before his eyes. Her smile and her laughing eyes were staring into his eyes. He looked at her as she told him that she loved him. Darcy remained captivated by her face until a knock at his door broke him out of his reverie. It was his manservant coming to help him prepare for the wedding. Darcy allowed him to enter, "I must look my best today. I am going to wear my formal blue coat." The servant went to get Darcy's blue coat along with his breeches, shirt, vest, and cravat.

Once Darcy was dressed, he dismissed the servant, and stood looking in the mirror, except, it was not his reflection that he saw. It was that of Elizabeth's. He remained in this same manner for some time until Bingley knocked on the door to see if he was ready to leave for the church. Darcy left his room and went downstairs with Bingley to find Georgiana, Colonel Fitzwilliam, Caroline Bingley, and Mr. and Mrs. Hurst sitting in the drawing room. Everyone looked happy except of course for Caroline Bingley. Miss Bingley was not at all happy. All of her hopes of becoming Mrs. Darcy were destroyed. The Netherfield party gathered together and prepared to leave for the church. They got into their carriages and set off.

    Chapter 3

Posted on Friday, 13 August 1999

Meanwhile back at Longbourn, the household was in a great state of disorder. Elizabeth and Jane were in different stages of getting ready, the Gardiner children were running around with Kitty and Mary trying to control them, Mrs. Bennet was trying to organize everything, and Mrs. Gardiner was giving some advice to Jane and Elizabeth while they were dressing. Mr. Bennet and Mr. Gardiner had retreated into the Library long ago to stay out of the way. The house was in full disorder. After Jane and Lizzy had finished dressing, they were presented to everyone in the drawing room. Once they entered, the noise ceased. Everyone turned to see the two brides. Mrs. Bennet was the first to speak as usual. "Oh girls, my darling girls, you will make your fiancées very happy." Both girls knew that even if they had shown up in rags, they would still make them happy.

Each woman wore a smile on her face that had been there for some time. Mr. Bennet and Mr. Gardiner just entered the room and Mr. Bennet said and he kissed each of them on the forehead, "Oh my dear girls, you look very beautiful. Congratulations, you will be very happy women."

"Yes we will. I believe that we should be leaving for the church, it is getting late." Jane said as she motioned towards the door.

The Netherfield party had just arrived at the church along with many of the other guests. Darcy and Bingley went to take their places at the front of the church. "Well Darcy, it's almost time. Are you nervous?" Bingley asked.

"Why do I look nervous to you?" Darcy responded.

"As a matter of fact, you do. You will wear yourself if you keep pacing like that. Look, you keep twisting your pinky ring. Bingley answered with an amused look.

"You don't look any better Bingley." Just then, they heard the music start. Both men turned around to see the Gardiner children start up the aisle followed by Mariah Lucas and Kitty. Once Mariah and Kitty reached the altar, the two men stood completely still as they saw Mr. Bennet with two of the most beautiful women on his arms. Everything else was forgotten. Darcy had never seen Elizabeth look so beautiful. Her eyes twinkled and she was smiling. She met his gaze and they remained this way.

Elizabeth was so overcome by the sight of Darcy that she didn't even hear the priest begin the ceremony. She was suddenly awakened by Darcy's voice, as he repeated his vows. After he finished, he slipped a beautiful gold ring onto her finger. She said her vows and the priest announced them as man and wife. She looked over and saw Bingley and Jane as they turned to face the congregation. She did not even hear Jane and Bingley say their vows. The music started up again and she took Darcy's arm as they walked down the isle. After leaving the church, Mr. and Mrs. Darcy shared their first kiss as man and wife. They were locked in a very passionate kiss which made Elizabeth go week at the knees. She grabbed Darcy's coat and he pulled her closer. She then felt a tapping on her shoulder. She pulled away to see Jane and Bingley staring at them. She looked at Fitzwilliam who wore a smile on his face. "You two had better get into your carriage for we must go to Longbourn for the wedding refreshments. Besides, you wouldn't want anyone to see you two like that." Bingley said with a laugh. Both couples entered their carriages and made their way to Longbourn soon to be followed by all the guests.

When they arrived at Longbourn, they found that refreshments had been set up. All of the guests started to arrive and everyone was trying to talk to the new couples. Usually Darcy couldn't stand being in such company, but knowing that Elizabeth was now his wife, he could stand anything. He looked at Elizabeth as she thanked everyone for their congratulations.

Soon it was time for the wedding meal. Mr. and Mrs. Bingley conversed with all of the people around them. Caroline and Louisa were talking with Jane, and Bingley was talking to Mrs. Bennet. Mr. and Mrs. Darcy seemed to only have eyes for each other. They were seated at the end of the table with Mr. Bennet and Georgiana to their left and the Gardiners to their right. Elizabeth and Darcy did not pay much attention to the conversation around them. Soon everyone gave up trying to include them in. They could see that their thought were only of each other.

Darcy stared into Elizabeth's eyes. Finally, she was his wife. How he loved her. His life was now complete. Her eyes sparkled as she looked at him. She wore a beautiful smile and he could see how much she loved him. He was so happy.

To give the newly weds privacy, Miss Bingley, Mr. and Mrs. Hurst, Georgiana, and Colonel Fitzwilliam were to stay at an inn. Jane and Mr. Bingley were to stay at Netherfield while Elizabeth and Darcy were to stay at an inn in the next town. They were to be the only customers there. They were assured complete privacy.

It was now time for the Darcys and Bingleys to depart from the company, so Elizabeth went upstairs with Jane to prepare for her journey. Once inside the dressing room, she stepped out of her wedding gown and into a nice white dress that was laid out for her. She then put on her coat, bonnet, and gloves. After she was completely dressed, she gave her sister a nice long hug. "You will write to me often."

"Of course Lizzy. Oh how I will miss you." Jane kissed her sister on the cheek and then both women proceeded back downstairs. Darcy was waiting with his hat, coat, and gloves at the bottom of the stairs. When he saw, her, he smiled up at her. Elizabeth heart fluttered and she proceeded down the stairs. They were both ready to depart for the inn. They said their good-byes. Elizabeth hugged Mary, Kitty, and Georgiana then went over to her parents. She gave each of them kiss and assured them that they would see each other in three days time when they would come to Longbourn for a visit before they left for London.

"Oh Lizzy, we shall surely miss you." Mrs. Bennet said in reply. Elizabeth then wished her father goodbye and told him that they would see him soon.

After all of the good-byes were made, Elizabeth and Darcy got into the carriage and set of for the inn. They sat close to one another and Elizabeth rested her head on Darcy's shoulder. Everything was peaceful and both were content to stay in that position for the whole journey. No words were needed to express their happiness, it was clearly visible on both of their faces. Pretty soon the carriage came to a halt . "Well my dear Mrs. Darcy, we have arrived at our destination. Shall I help you out of the carriage."

"Why thank you yes." Darcy got out of the carriage and then helped Elizabeth down. They walked over to where the innkeeper Mr. Wilkens and his wife were standing.

"Welcome Mr. and Mrs. Darcy to the Blue Falcon Inn." said Mr. Wilkens.

"Thank you very much Mr. Wilkens. If you would please see that our baggage gets to our room and that a small dinner is prepared for me and my wife, we would be very much obliged."

"Of course Mr. Darcy, but do not hesitate to ring for anything else. We shall be most happy to see to your needs, whatever they may be." the innkeeper responded.

"Thank you, could you please show us to our rooms."

"Yes of course, right this way." Elizabeth and Darcy followed the Wilkens into the inn and up to their rooms. "Your dinner shall be ready in ten minutes. Will there be anything else. If not, we will leave to see to your dinner and baggage."

"No thank you, you may go." As soon as the couple left, Darcy turned to Elizabeth and said, "Is this room to your liking my love."

"I wouldn't care if there was only a chair in this room. As long as you are here with me my dear husband." responded Elizabeth. Her eyes sparkled and Darcy smiled. After they made themselves a little more presentable, they went down to dinner.

Once they entered the dining room, they found a table covered with food and Mr. and Mrs. Wilkens rushed over to them. "Oh Mr. and Mrs. Darcy, I hope that you found your rooms comfortable.

"Yes thank you, they are very pleasant." said Elizabeth.

"If you are ready, your dinner is on the table in the dining room."

"Thank you," Elizabeth said as she and Darcy followed the Wilkens into the dining room where there was a lovely dinner laid out for them. Once Mr. and Mrs. Wilkens had made sure that they lacked nothing, they left the room saying that they would not disturb them anymore and tomorrow morning they would not bother them until they called down. Once they were gone, Elizabeth and Darcy ate their dinner even though neither of them were hungry. After they decided that neither wanted to eat anymore, Elizabeth asked Darcy if she could have a little time to prepare herself.

"Of course my dear. How long would you like?" Darcy asked.

"Fifteen minutes should suffice." Elizabeth responded.

After Elizabeth had gone, Darcy sat at the table not knowing what to do with himself. He sat there looking at his watch. The time seemed to stop. Finally the fifteen minutes were up, so Darcy mounted the stairs that led him to his room where his lovely wife was awaiting him. When he arrived, he paused at the door and then opened it and walked in. Inside the room was the most beautiful sight that he had ever beheld. Elizabeth had on a beautiful silk gown and her hair cascaded down her back. She was smiling and looking into her eyes. He could see her fear of the unknown. He was broken out of his reverie when Elizabeth spoke. "Are you going to stand there all night or are you going to come in. Darcy then walked over to her.

"Oh Elizabeth, you don't realize what you do to me. You are so beautiful."

"I'm sure I do. I feel it also." With those words, Darcy brought his lips down to Elizabeth's and kissed her more passionately then he had ever kissed her before. After a while he broke away, picked up Elizabeth and carried her to the bed. He laid her on the soft white sheets and then removed his jacket and vest. To him, Elizabeth looked like an angel on a cloud. once he was undressed, he climbed into bed with her and they soon became one in mind and body.

    Chapter 4

    Posted on Saturday, 8 July 2000, at 11 : 22 a.m.

The next morning, Elizabeth awoke in Darcy's arms. She lifted her head from his chest and looked up at his face. He was still sleeping, but he wore a small smile on his face. Still being tired due to the lack of sleep she had gotten the night before, she laid her head back down on his chest. She was soon asleep again. An hour later, Elizabeth awoke again, but this time, she found Darcy watching her.

"And how long have you been watching me sleep sir?" she inquired.

"Only for a little while. You looked so perfect and happy. I didn't want to wake you."

"You would be thankful to know that I was dreaming of you. Did you also know that I was engaged in a similar manner just an hour ago? What caused the smile on your face may I ask?"

"Well, I was thinking of you."

With this, he brought his lips to Elizabeth's and kissed her gently, but with much love. About an hour later, Elizabeth and Darcy finally emerged from their bed. As soon as they were out of the bed, Elizabeth shivered.

"Are you cold my dear?" Darcy asked.

"Yes, for it is freezing in here."

"Allow me to fetch your robe."

"Thank you! You are a very thoughtful husband. I don't know what I'd do without you." Darcy went to retrieve her robe and when he returned, he wrapped it gently around her then placed his arms around her.

"Are you hungry my dear?" Darcy asked.

    "Yes, a little."

"Shall I ring down for breakfast?"

"Yes, that would be very pleasing."

Darcy then went to ring down for some breakfast while Elizabeth went in search of her trunk to find something suitable to wear. When Darcy returned, he found Elizabeth rummaging through her trunk.

    "Looking for something my dear?"

"I was just looking for something suitable to wear. I don't think that I can wear my bed clothes all day."

"I would not mind. They are very enticing!"

"Oh! For shame, Fitzwilliam dear! Don't you think that we should get dressed. It is, after all, almost ten."

"I have no plans for today. Do you Mrs. Darcy have plans that I do not know about?"

"Well, Sir", Elizabeth teased, "I did have a most secret rendezvous arranged with a tall, dark and handsome gentleman of my recent acquaintance. Do you plan on staying in this inn all day long while I go out?"

"Well, 'Ma'am'", Darcy responded, "I did notice the most enticing young wench down the way last night. Perchance I might spend some time with her, since I'll have no one else around it seems!"

After this brief interlude Elizabeth gave Darcy another kiss and Expressed her delight that her Fitzwilliam was beginning to develop a sense of humor, but cautioned him most seriously that she was apt to get very, very jealous about this 'wench' of his.

"Well then, my love, shall we now stay in all day?" Queried Elizabeth.

"Why, I don't think that we have much of a choice."

    "Whatever do you mean?"

    "Take a look outside."

Elizabeth walked to the window and pulled the curtain aside. Outside it was snowing very heavily and there seemed to be a half a foot of snow already on the ground.

"Well if we are unable to go outside, then what shall we do?"

"We could get dressed and go down to breakfast for a start! I seemed to have worked up an appetite due to some recent exercise that I have been undertaking," Darcy quipped with a smile.

"A most excellent idea, Sir, as I seem to have done the same!"

Darcy and Elizabeth then went into their dressing rooms and got dressed.

"Will you help me with my buttons, so that I do not have to ring for the maid?"

"Will you in turn help me with my cravat? I never seem to be able to get it straight."

After they were both dressed, Elizabeth sat down at her vanity to brush her hair. Darcy came up behind her and started brushing it for her.

"With you around sir, I shan't need my maid."

"Shall I ring for the maid to come and do your hair."

    "Why thank you husband."

A few minutes later, there was a knock at the door. Darcy opened the door to find a young girl standing outside the room.

    Chapter 5

"Excuse me sir, but you rang for me."

"Yes, of course. My wife needs her hair done." with that said, he let the girl into the room and she went over to Elizabeth.

"Please put my hair up, but leave a few curls down on my neck." As the girl was putting Elizabeth's hair, Darcy was looking around for his belongings. Once he found what he was looking for, he went over to where Elizabeth was sitting. The maid had finished with her hair and left the room.

"Well my dear, shall we go down to breakfast?"

"Yes, that would be quite nice." Darcy then reached his arm out and Elizabeth took it, placing her hand firmly on his arm. She gave his arm a tight squeeze that made him shiver. She looked into his eyes and he brought his lips to her lips. "If you kiss me like that every time I touch you Fitzwilliam, we will never get anywhere."

"I cannot help it. You are so beautiful." A little while later Elizabeth and Darcy emerged from their rooms and sat down at the food covered table. There they were met by Mr. and Mrs. Wilkens.

"I hope that you had a pleasant night. Were the room to your pleasing?" Mrs. Wilkens asked as they got settled at the table.

"Yes, they were lovely and very comfortable. Thank you." Elizabeth said as she sent a playful glance at Darcy. Darcy met her gaze and held her eyes with his own. Seeing that the newlyweds wanted privacy, Mr. and Mrs. Wilkens left the room. Elizabeth and Darcy ate their breakfast in silence. They were happy to just stare into each others eyes.

After each had eaten all the breakfast they wanted, they went back upstairs. As soon as the door was shut and locked, Darcy grabbed Elizabeth by the shoulders and pulled her close. He then brought his lips to hers and kissed her with so much passion that she had to hold on to his arms for support. He released her lips and picked Elizabeth up. He swung her around once before carrying her to the bed, carefully laying her down on the sheets. Darcy removed his coat and climbed into the bed. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her. He could feel her meet his passion as she returned the powerful kisses that he gave her.

About an hour later, Elizabeth awoke to find herself tangled in the sheets and Darcy's arms and legs. She moved her head slightly so that she was able to see his face. He was still sleeping which was not surprising considering the activities that they had been previously engaged in. She unwound herself from Darcy as carefully as she could, trying not to wake him. After she was successively away from Darcy, she climbed out of the bed and reached for her robe. She walked over to the mirror to assess the damage. In the mirror, she saw that her hair had fallen down and was a mess. A thousand curls circled her head in no apparent pattern. The maids work of this morning was all ruined. After straightening out her hair somewhat, she picked up her dress and corset. Unfortunately, her dress had been ripped in the hastiness. She gathered up her things and placed them on a table at one side of the room.

Once this task was completed, she ventured to gather up her husband's things, which were also scattered everywhere. After everything was finally in order, she climbed back into the bed and looked over at her sleeping husband. He looked so handsome. What did she do to deserve such a wonderful man. She was lost in her thoughts until she was awakened by the soft chiming of the clock on the mantle. It was one o'clock. She climbed out of bed and walked to the window. She drew the curtains and looked outside. Outside, the snow had stopped falling and a blanket of snow lay on the ground. She ran over to the bed a gave her husband a kiss. As soon as her lips touched his, she saw his eyes flutter. "Fitzwilliam dear, I do believe that you should get up. It is one o'clock. Look outside, it has stopped snowing."

    Chapter 6

"How long have I been sleeping?" Darcy asked while rubbing his eyes. "I enjoyed your wake up. I hope that that is the way that you will awaken me every morning."

"You have been sleeping for over an hour. I was also asleep, but I woke up about ten minutes ago. She responded.

"Why didn't you awaken me sooner?"

"You looked so peaceful and I knew that you must be tired due to the lack of sleep that you got last night. Do you think it might be possible for us to go outside? I long to be out in the fresh air. It has stopped snowing." Elizabeth said as she looked into Darcy's eyes.

"You know that I could never refuse anything to you my lovely wife. Shall we dress once again?"

"Yes, that would be nice. I placed your clothes on the table over in the corner. You seemed to have thrown them all over the place. I will have to get a new dress out of my trunk because my other was ripped."

"Oh, I am so sorry. I don't know what came over me."

"No need to apologize. I know exactly what you felt." With this said, they both got dressed and wrapped themselves up warmly. Elizabeth did not bother with her hair this time. She just pulled it back with a ribbon. Once they were ready, they went downstairs and out the door. As they exited the inn, the cold air surrounded them. You could see little puffs of smoke coming from their mouths.

"Where shall we go my dear?" Darcy asked of his wife.

"Since neither of us are familiar with this part of the country, and since it looks as if it will start to snow again, I believe that we should stay in town." After walking for about ten minutes, it started to snow again and rather heavily.

"I believe that we should head back towards the inn before the weather gets any worse."

"Yes, I believe that you are right Fitzwilliam. Elizabeth said as she felt a gust of wind travel under her coat and dress. She shivered and Darcy pulled her closer to him.

"Let us quicken our pace, so that we do not freeze." When they reached the inn, they were ushered inside to hot tea and biscuits which were gratefully accepted. When the tea and biscuits were finished, they decided to look around the inn. As they passed from room to room, they came upon what looked to be a music room. At one side, there was a pianoforte and on the other, there was a few scattered chairs and tables. Elizabeth walked over to the instrument and sat down with Darcy close on her heels. Darcy watched as she ran her fingers over the delicate keys. "Would you play for me Elizabeth? I so enjoy hearing you."

"With an offer like that, I wouldn't dare refuse."

"I am glad to hear it." With that said, Elizabeth started to play. Her fingers glided across the keys. Darcy sat and stared in awe. His desire for her was growing with every additional note. He loved the way her eyes danced as she played and the way she scrunched her face up during the difficult parts. He just couldn't take it anymore, so he grabbed her cheeks and kissed her lips with more passion than he ever thought possible. At first Elizabeth didn't know what had happened since she was concentrating on her music. When she realized what had happened, she started to return his kisses with her own. His kisses were so passionate, that she felt weak. She grabbed his coat for support and she could feel him trying to undo the buttons on the back of her dress. "Fitzwilliam dear...... not......here," she said breathlessly between kisses. He didn't stop, but kept undoing her buttons. She didn't try to stop him this time. She just hoped that no one would enter the room. She was surprised although when Darcy picked her up and carried her out of the room and past one of the maids who had dropped her tray at the sight of them. He ran up he steps and into their rooms, placing her gently on the bed.

    Chapter 7

Posted on Wednesday, 18 August 1999

About an hour or so later, Elizabeth woke to find Darcy watching her. He wore a boyish grin on his face and she could see his dimples. "May I ask sir what you are looking at?"

    "You my darling." he responded.

"And how long have you been watching me?" she asked with a smile and a blink of her eyes.

"I don't know. I lost track of the time."

"What time is it my dear?" Darcy looked over at the mantle clock and saw that it was after four o'clock. Both got out of bed and dressed for a third time that day. Elizabeth looked out the window and saw that it had stopped snowing and that the sun was shining. "Shall we go for another walk before dinner Fitzwilliam?"

"Yes, that is a lovely idea." Darcy put on his coat, hat, and gloves while Elizabeth put on her coat, bonnet, and gloves. They left the room and went outside for a nice refreshing walk.

When they returned, they found dinner waiting for them on the table in the dining room. When the dinner was over they went upstairs. Elizabeth got a book out of her trunk and they snuggled together in front of the fire while Darcy read aloud.

Soon Darcy and Elizabeth became sleepy, so they decided to retire for the evening. They fell asleep in each other's arms dreaming of the first full day they spent together as husband and wife.

Each day passed quickly and before they knew it, it was time to leave the inn. Their trunks were packed and loaded on to the carriage. They said their thank yous and good-byes to Mr. and Mrs. Wilkens and set off on the road that led them to Longbourn. Both had fears as to what they were to face once they reached their destination and neither was looking forward to the stay at Longbourn. Darcy looked over at Elizabeth sitting across from him and switched sides so that he was sitting next to her. He could see the looks of worry in her eyes. He gave her a reassuring squeeze and said to her, "Do not worry my dear. Everything will be fine."

    "I hope you are right."

The carriage ride wasn't long, and before they knew it, they were pulling into Longbourne. They could see many people outside waiting for them. "Well I don't think that I will ever be ready for this, so we might as well get this over with." Elizabeth said with a shaky voice.

"Don't worry my dear. I am sure nothing will go wrong.. Everything will turn out okay." Darcy said as he placed his hand over hers to reassure her. Soon the carriage came to a stop. Elizabeth and Darcy both took a deep breath. Darcy stepped out of the carriage and then helped Elizabeth out. Mrs. Bennet came rushing over followed by the rest of the family to greet them.

"Oh my dear Mrs. Darcy, How have you been? Did you enjoy your stay at the inn?" Before Elizabeth could answer, Mrs. Bennet moved on to Mr. Darcy. "I hope that you enjoyed yourself Mr. Darcy. You seem to be happy." Once again, before he anyone could answer, Mrs. Bennet started ushering them inside, followed by a group of people trying to hide their amusement.

Once inside, they said hello to Mary and Kitty. Elizabeth then went over to her Aunt Gardiner and gave her a kiss. Mr. Bennet soon entered with Mr. Gardiner and Elizabeth went over to her father and gave him a kiss. "I hope you enjoyed your stay at the inn Lizzy."

"Yes Papa, it was very nice. I had a wonderful time."

"I am glad to hear it." The whole time that Elizabeth was greeting her family, Darcy watched with amusement in his eyes. He could see that Elizabeth was glad to see her family again, but growing tired of all the questions. Darcy was awakened from his reverie by Mrs. Bennet asking him if he would care for some tea. Replying in the affirmative, she handed him a cup and then passed out all of the other cups. When everyone was settled, Elizabeth asked if they had seen the Bingleys, Miss Darcy, or the Colonel since they went away.

"Yes, we saw the Bingleys yesterday, and the Colonel and Miss Darcy are supposed to come for luncheon today." Mrs. Bennet replied. Just then the Bingleys, Georgiana, and Colonel Fitzwilliam entered the room. Elizabeth went and gave Jane and Georgiana a hug and said hello to the Colonel. After exchanging a few words with the Colonel and Georgiana, she went back over to where Jane was standing. She gave her another hug. Both women wore bright smiles that never seemed to leave their faces. Elizabeth turned around to see her husband conversing with his sister and the Colonel and the rest of the family conversing amongst themselves. Bingley was talking with Mr. Bennet and Mr. Gardiner, Georgiana left her brother to talk with Mary and Kitty, Jane was with her mother and Mrs. Gardiner, and the Colonel went to join Mr. Gardiner and the other men. They were soon talking of politics which left Elizabeth and Darcy alone, which neither of them seemed to mind. Darcy led Elizabeth to a sofa and then sat down next to her. The rest of the room seemed to disappear. Neither person realized that everyone had stopped talking and was watching them with amused looks. Being oblivious to the tender moment, Mrs. Bennet broke the silence by asking them what they did at the inn. Both Elizabeth and Darcy blushed at this question for they both knew what had occupied most of their time. Neither Darcy nor Elizabeth wanted to reveal what they did at the inn, so they just replied by saying that they kept themselves busy. "I imagine that you had to spend a great deal of the time indoors. I hope that you kept yourselves amused." Darcy and Elizabeth once again blushed, but were saved of a response by Hill announcing that luncheon was ready.

After luncheon, the group split up into small groups. Colonel Fitzwilliam was talking with Mr. Bennet and Mr. Gardiner, Georgiana was with Kitty, Mrs. Gardiner was with Mrs. Bennet and Mrs. Phillips who had stopped for a visit.. Mary was reading in the corner of the room while Elizabeth, Darcy, Jane, and Bingley were talking amongst themselves. "I hope that you enjoyed having Netherfield to yourselves." Darcy said. "I can assure you that Elizabeth and I had an agreeable time at the inn." Darcy looked at Elizabeth with a mischievous grin.

"Yes, it was very nice. Jane and I had a wonderful time." Bingley responded not catching Darcy's look much to Elizabeth's relief.

"Where are your sisters and Mr. Hurst?" Elizabeth asked once she had recovered.

"They decided to go to London a little earlier this year. After all, they were forced to stay in an inn for the past few days. They found that they had much rather go to London a little early."

The rest of the day was passed in a similar manner and before long, it was time for the company to depart. Elizabeth and Darcy had agreed to remain at Longbourn for the night considering it would be the last time that Elizabeth would see her family until Christmas.

When all of the company was gone, Mrs. Bennet showed Darcy to his room. Elizabeth was to stay in her old room. Elizabeth both claiming fatigue from their journey and all of the excitement decided to retire. Everyone else said that they were also tired, so all of the people in Longbourn retired to their separate bedchambers. After all the goodnights were said, Elizabeth told Darcy that she would go to her room, get undressed, then come to his room since hers was right next to Mrs. Bennet's.

The next morning, Elizabeth and Darcy awakened early. Still being early, Elizabeth and Darcy remained in bed close to each other. Darcy's arms were wrapped around Elizabeth and they were resting peacefully. "My dear," Elizabeth said. "I think that I must get up and get dressed because I do not want Mama to find my bed not slept in." It was too late although because there was a soft knock on the door. It was Hill asking to see if he knew where Elizabeth was due to the fact that Mrs. Bennet was looking for her. Elizabeth quickly got out of bed and put her robe on. She gave Darcy a kiss and told him that she would see him at breakfast. She then left to go in search of her mother. Before she was even three feet out of the door, she ran into her mother.

"Oh Lizzy, where have you been? Don't you know that it is almost eight. I went to find you in your, but you weren't there and your bed was not slept in." Elizabeth blushed and told her that she had to get dressed since they had to depart for London soon. Elizabeth was relieved when Mrs. Bennet did not inquire any further about her whereabouts of last night. After she was dressed, she went downstairs to find her husband waiting for her. When Darcy and Elizabeth entered the dining room together, everyone looked at them because they too had learned that Elizabeth had spent the night somewhere other than her own room.

After breakfast, Darcy and Elizabeth packed their trunks and said their good-byes. They still had to stop at Netherfield and pick up Georgiana and Colonel Fitzwilliam who were to travel with them to London. Once all good-byes were said, Darcy helped Elizabeth into the carriage and them climbed in after her. They were to spend a few days in London with Georgiana and the Colonel before they all traveled to Pemberley for the Christmas season.

The carriage stopped at an inn in Meryton where Georgiana and the Colonel were waiting with their trunks. After everything was loaded onto the carriage, they proceeded onto Netherfield where they were met by Bingley and Jane. Jane ran over to Elizabeth and gave her a hug then invited everyone inside. They could not stay long, so they followed Jane and Bingley inside the house. They were led into a drawing room where they found tea waiting for them.

About an hour later, Darcy said that they must be going if they would like to reach London before dark. Knowing that Elizabeth would not see her sister until she came for Christmas, Darcy and the rest of the people left them alone for a few minutes. Once everyone was gone, Elizabeth embraced her sister. "Oh Jane, I will miss you so much. You must write to me so that I will know what you are doing. At least we will see each other again soon. I shall miss our talks."

"Yes Lizzy, I will miss you also. You must also write. I can not wait until Christmas when we will see each other again." She then released herself from her sister's embrace and they both walked outside to find the others waiting by the carriage. Jane hugged her sister one more time before she got into the carriage and everyone said their good-byes. After the last good-byes were said, the carriage started moving, taking Elizabeth into a new life.

Inside the carriage, Darcy was seated next to Elizabeth, who had rested her head on his shoulder, and Georgiana was seated next to Colonel Fitzwilliam. Both Elizabeth and Georgiana fell asleep, so Darcy and the colonel were left to talk of politics. They remained in this way for several hours until they reached the outskirts of London. The men decided that they should probably awaken the sleeping women. Georgiana was awakened first and she then proceeded to help awaken Elizabeth.

When Elizabeth finally opened her eyes, she found, three people staring at her. "May I ask why you are all staring at me. Is there something wrong with me?" Elizabeth asked of the group.

"No, no my dear. It was just that we have been trying to wake you up for the past five minutes." Darcy responded. "We have reached London and we should be arriving at our townhouse in ten minutes." Elizabeth tried to fight away her sleepiness by trying to make herself presentable. She fixed her hair and smoothed out her dress. She finished just in time as the carriage stopped in front of the Darcy townhouse. Elizabeth could see that the door to the house was being opened by a man whom she guessed to be the butler. Inside she saw a line forming. She thought that it had to be all the servants waiting to be introduced to their new mistress.

Everyone climbed out of the carriage and Colonel Fitzwilliam led Georgiana into the house followed by Darcy and Elizabeth. "Do I look presentable enough sir?" Elizabeth asked of Darcy.

"Yes my dear, you look very beautiful. I hope that you are up to meeting the servants."

"Yes my dear, shall we go in." Darcy and Elizabeth walked into the house where they were first greeted by Mr. Garrott, the butler, and Mrs. Fitzgerald, the housekeeper who announced to the group of servants that this was their new mistress. Elizabeth followed Mrs. Fitzgerald down the row of servants. Once she was introduced to everyone, Darcy told Mrs. Fitzgerald to see that everyone's trunks were taken care of and that dinner was prepared. Darcy then asked Elizabeth if she would like him to show her her bedchamber. "Yes, I would like to change out of my traveling clothes before dinner." Darcy then asked Ann to fetch Mrs. Darcy's belongings and have them brought up to her chambers. Darcy then took Elizabeth upstairs to her bedchamber. Her room was very nice and had a small sitting room to one side. On the same side she saw two doors. She figured that one was probably her dressing room, but she did not know what the other could be.

"Please take as long as you need. Ann will be here in a few minutes with your belongings. I will meet you in the drawing room on the first floor when you are done. Ann will show you the way." With that, Darcy left the room to go change for dinner. He did not of course leave without giving her a kiss which was interrupted by Ann arriving with Elizabeth's things. AS soon as Darcy had gone, Elizabeth gave her room another inspection.

"Which dress would you like to wear Mrs. Darcy?" Ann asked as she started unpacking Elizabeth's trunk.

"I believe that I shall where my white dress with the blue flowers." Ann then went to find the dress that she had asked for. It was one of her new dresses that her mother had insisted that she buy.

After Ann finished helping Elizabeth dress, she asked if she would like to go down to the drawing room. Elizabeth told her to finish unpacking so that she could finish inspecting her room. Ann then went to hang up the rest of the dresses in the dressing room. Finding herself alone in the room, she decided to find out what was behind the other door in her room. She walked over to it and turned the knob. The door opened up into what she suspected to be her husband's room. She walked into his room to find his valet unpacking Darcy's things.

"Can I help you Mrs. Darcy?" he asked.

"No, I was just seeing where this door led to." Embarrassed at being caught, Elizabeth hurried back into her own bedchamber.

After Ann had finished unpacking, she escorted Elizabeth down o the drawing room where the rest of the party had already assembled. As soon as Elizabeth entered the room, Darcy's heartbeat quickened. He thought maybe they should just skip dinner, but realizing that they would not be polite he put that thought out of his head. Little did he know that Elizabeth was thinking the same thing.

    Chapter 10

    Posted on Sunday, 5 September 1999, at 6 : 44 p.m.

Dinner went by peacefully. Both Darcy and Elizabeth just pushed their food around for neither of them was very hungry. After dinner, they all gathered they all went to the music room. Once everyone was settled, Colonel Fitzwilliam asked Elizabeth if she would play. Both Georgiana and Darcy joined in on the pleading, so Elizabeth finally consented. She played a few songs and sang a few songs until Georgiana took over. Darcy noticed that Elizabeth looked tired, so after Georgiana finished playing, he suggested that they retire. Darcy then stood up and helped Elizabeth to her feet. He offered her his arm and they went up stairs. Darcy led Elizabeth to her room. "Would you like me to send for your maid to help you undress?"

"No, you needn't bother. I believe that I will undress myself." With that said, Darcy left through the door that led to his bedchamber. Once inside his own room, he removed his coat and cravat. He walked over to the window and after a few minutes of contemplation about what lied ahead of him in the next few days, he finished undressing and put on his robe. After checking his appearance in the mirror, he went in search of Elizabeth. As he entered her room, he found her brushing her hair in her nightgown.. He watched her as she brushed her hair. She was so beautiful. He loved the way her hair curled down her back. Sensing Darcy's presence, she turned around to find him looking at her with a small smile on his face. "Is something wrong with my appearance Fitzwilliam."

"No, not at all. You are very beautiful. I was only captivated by your looks." With this, Elizabeth blushed and Darcy walked over to Elizabeth and embraced her. He bent his head down and found her lips. "Do you know how much I love you dearest loveliest Elizabeth. You take my breath away." After embracing for a little while longer, Darcy picked Elizabeth and carried her to bed.

The next morning, Darcy woke to find Elizabeth still in his arms. Her curls were spilled across his chest and she was sleeping peacefully. Not wanting to disturb her, he just lied there and thought about how lucky he was to have such a wonderful wife. Darcy heard the clock on the mantle chime eight o'clock. All of a sudden, he felt something touch his foot. He looked down to see Elizabeth smiling at him, her eyes sparkling. "Good morning husband. I trust you slept well."

"Very well indeed. I hope you slept well, for you looked tired last night."

"I did. I slept very well. I was tired due to our long journey. I always am tired after travelling for a long period of time. What are we to do today my dear?"

"Well, I regret to say that I have some business matters this morning, but I shall be done by luncheon although. After that, I have no plans. What would you like to do?"

"Maybe we should ask Georgiana and Colonel Fitzwilliam. How long are we to stay in London Fitzwilliam?"

"I was planning to stay for three days. That way, we will be a Pemberley in time to prepare for Christmas. Is this plan agreeable to you?"

"Oh yes. It is perfect. I do so long to be at Pemberley again. I believe that I will write to Mrs. Reynolds to see how the Christmas preparations are coming along."

"I think that that would be a wonderful idea. Besides, our families are coming to Pemberley two days before Christmas, and we must prepare their rooms. I believe this will be a wonderful Christmas."

"I also believe that this will be a wonderful Christmas." With that, Darcy stopped Elizabeth's mouth with a Christmas. A little while later Elizabeth and Darcy emerged from their room in search of Georgiana and the Colonel. They found them in the breakfast room waiting for them.

"Good morning. We had almost given you up for breakfast." Colonel Fitzwilliam said with an amused glance towards them. Both Elizabeth and Darcy blushed and then went over to the buffet to get some breakfast. Elizabeth and Darcy kept to themselves most of the breakfast while Georgiana and Colonel Fitzwilliam looked on with amusement. They could both see how very they were. Their happiness shown from their faces.

After breakfast, Colonel Fitzwilliam left for his club, Darcy went to take care of a little business, and Elizabeth and Georgiana sat in the music room. "What are your plans for the day Georgiana?" Elizabeth asked once they were settled.

"I was going to call on a friend, but other than that, I have no fixed engagements. What are you and Fitzwilliam going to do today?"

"Well, we hadn't decided. We were going to see what plans you had first."

"Please do not worry about me. I know you two would like to have some privacy. I would only be in the way."

"You could never be in the way and I hope that you never feel that you are. Just because I married your brother doesn't mean that he no longer has a sister. Besides I am overjoyed that you are now my sister too." Elizabeth explained.

"Thank you. I am so glad to have a sister like you."

"As am I. Would it be agreeable to have luncheon with us after you visit your friend?" As Elizabeth was speaking these words, Darcy walked in and seconded the notion.

"I would be glad too." Georgiana said before getting up and leaving Elizabeth and Darcy alone in the music room. Darcy moved to the couch where Elizabeth was sitting. Once he sat down, Elizabeth sniggled up close to him. Both were very comfortable and didn't feel like moving from the spot that they were in. They were forced to part when a servant came into the room saying that some guests had arrived.

    Chapter 11

"Who are these guests?" Darcy asked.

"A Mr. and Mrs. Sanders" the servant responded.

"Oh no. Not the Sanders'." Darcy said as he slumped down in his chair.

"Who are the Sanders' my dear." Elizabeth asked.

"The two of the most annoying people that I have ever met. You may show them in, but tell that they can only stay for ten minutes due to a previous engagement." The servant then left. A high and loud voice was heard in the hallway. When the couple finally entered the room, Elizabeth could see why Darcy did not want them to stay. Mrs. Sanders, a large plump woman with a high voice had not stopped talking since they entered. Mr. Sanders seemed to be led by his wife on an invisible leash. He reminded her very much of Mr. Collins.

When the couple finally took their leave, both Darcy and Elizabeth let out a sigh. "I can see why you didn't want to see them my dear."

"You think that was bad, wait till you see them at parties. You can't do anything without them knowing.

"Do you see them often?" Elizabeth asked.

"Often enough. I am sure that once they heard that I was to b married, they spread it all around London. We will have no privacy except for when we are at home. What do you say to going to the theater tomorrow? They are showing 'Much Ado About Nothing.'"

"Oh I love that play. I would love to go. Do you think that Georgiana and the Colonel will join us?"

"Join you where?" a voice said from behind the sofa. Both Elizabeth and Darcy turned around and saw Colonel Fitzwilliam and Georgiana.

"We thought that we would go to the theater to see Much Ado About Nothing. Would you care to join us?" Darcy explained.

"I would love to join you." the Colonel answered, "I must be leaving in three days to join the Regiment stationed in Lambton."

"So soon. That is too bad. We will just have to make your remaining days here very nice." said Elizabeth.

"My dear, what do you say to leaving for Pemberley in three days. Christmas is coming and all of our family will be visiting. I know that there is a lot to prepare."

"Yes, I think that that would be a wonderful idea. We will also have a few days to ourselves before our guests arrive and I would like to figure out my duties as mistress of Pemberley."

"Then it's settled. We leave in three days time. Perhaps we should visit the Gardiners to inform them of our plans. We could invite them to the theater with us if you are agreeable to that." Darcy said.

"Yes, I think that would be a lovely idea." A servant then interrupted their conversation by announcing that luncheon was ready. Everyone left to go into the dining room where the food was awaiting them.

After lunch, Elizabeth and Darcy went for a walk. Thy walked in silence for the most part, just enjoying each others company. They watched the other couples pass and walked around until they noticed some dark clouds in the already menacing sky. They decided to turn back before they became wet, but they were too late. It started to pour, drenching both Elizabeth and Darcy. By the time that they reached the house, both were wet form head to toe. After shedding their coats, hats, gloves, and bonnets, they called for baths to be prepared and them made their way upstairs to get out of their wet things.

Once inside Elizabeth's bedchamber, Darcy shut the door and locked it. He walked over to Elizabeth and gathered her in his arms. "You must remove these wet things before you catch cold." With that, Darcy started undoing the buttons on her dress. Before she had time to speak, his mouth was on hers, so she decided that she better start on his clothes.

    Chapter 12

    Posted on Sunday, 31 October 1999, at 12 : 37 a.m.

About an hour later, Elizabeth and Darcy came downstairs together. Both wore very large grins on their faces. When they entered the drawing room, they found Georgiana playing the pianoforte and Colonel Fitzwilliam listening on the sofa. "I see you two made it back safely. I hope you didn't catch a chill." Colonel Fitzwilliam said as Darcy glared at him. Elizabeth and Darcy sat down on another sofa while Georgian continued playing. Colonel Fitzwilliam started to talk about his club, but neither Darcy nor Elizabeth realized that he was talking or Georgiana was playing. They were oblivious to all. They finally came back to reality when a servant came in to announce dinner, so the party moved into the dining room. It had been a glorious first day in London as a married couple and tomorrow they were all to go to the theater with the Gardiners.

The next morning, Elizabeth awoke in Darcy's arms. She could see that it had snowed again over night. Her lips were still a little swollen from the passion that they had shared last night. While she was thinking of all this, she felt the arms around her waist tighten. She raised her head to see her husband watching her with a mischievous grin on his face. "What do you find so amusing sir?"

    "You my darling."

"And why do you find me so amusing?"

"Just the way your hair looks and the way your night gown is ripped."

"Well it is your fault that I look this way."

"I am happy to agree with you."

"What time should we visit Aunt and Uncle Gardiner? It better be early so that they will not make any plans and not be able to come with us to the theater."

    "Shall we go after breakfast?"

    "That is agreeable to me."

After Darcy and Elizabeth had breakfast, they set off for the Gardiners. When they arrived, they were welcomed in by the four Gardiner children running towards them. Elizabeth was surrounded by the three older children while Emily, the youngest, stood and stared up at Darcy. Darcy felt a tug on his coat and he looked down at the small girl. "Do you really love cousin Lizzy. Mama says you do. She said that she can tell. I know Lizzy loves you." she said in a tiny but bold voice.

"Yes, I love Elizabeth with my whole heart."

"I see my children have found you." Mrs. Gardiner said as she came into the hall. "Would you like to come into the drawing room where it is more comfortable." They all followed her into the drawing room. Once everyone was comfortable and refreshments were passed out, Mrs. Gardiner spoke. "What do we owe the pleasure of this visit."

"We have come to invite you to the theater tonight to see Much Ado About Nothing." responded Elizabeth.

"That sounds lovely. We would love to come with you. After all, you will be leaving at the end of the week."

"But you are coming to Pemberley for Christmas. We will not be parted for long." After everything was settled for this evening, Elizabeth and Darcy took their leave and returned to their townhouse to prepare for the theater. When they were all finally ready to go, Darcy, Colonel Fitzwilliam, Elizabeth, and Georgiana all climbed into the Darcy barouche. When they arrived at the theater, they were met by the Gardiners.

"May I escort you to our box my love?" Darcy asked of Elizabeth.

"Yes, thank you." Elizabeth responded. "Look at all the people watching you and whispering.

"Don't mind them, and they are not watching me, they are watching you. They are wondering about the beautiful lady who stole my heart." Satisfied, Elizabeth smiled and tried to keep her head up like a lady. She didn't want to embarrass her husband.

Once inside the box, Elizabeth gave a sigh. "Something wrong my dear?" Darcy asked.

"No, I am just glad that we are in here. I didn't want to embarrass you by doing something wrong since everyone was watching us. I felt as if I was on parade."

"You will never embarrass me." Elizabeth looked up held Darcy's eyes. She could see the love in them.

"Are we interrupting something?" Mrs. Gardiner asked as both Elizabeth and Darcy blushed. "The play is about to start. I think it wise that we take our seats. They all sat down and the play started. Elizabeth felt something grad her hand and she knew that it was her husband. She looked lovingly at him and then focused her attention on the play.

At the conclusion of the play everyone left their boxes to greet others. Everyone wanted a glimpse of Darcy's new bride. The Darcys didn't think that they would be able to escape. All were wondering who the beautiful woman with the gleaming eyes full of love was that captured the heart of the most sought after man in town.

When the Darcys finally escaped the crowds, they got into their waiting carriage to await the others. "Did you enjoy the play my love?" Darcy inquired.

"Yes, very much. Shakespeare has always been one of my favorites. Look, I think the others are coming."

"Yes, I believe you are right and I also think that Shakespeare is one of my favorites."

"Did you enjoy the theater Lizzy?" Mr. Gardiner asked.

"Yes, it was lovely. Did you enjoy it?"

"Oh yes, I knew you would like it. You were always reading and spouting out lines form Shakespeare when you were younger. In fact, if my memory serves me, I believe it was you who used to pretend to be Shakespeare when you were little."

"Fitzwilliam used to do the same thing when he was younger." Georgiana added.

"See how well matched we are my dear. One would think us soul mates." Elizabeth said with a twinkle in her eye.

"I believe we are soul mates." Darcy responded. Everyone was quiet as they sat looking at the looks passed between Darcy and Elizabeth. Everyone was so happy that they found each other. No other couple was as well matched as they.

When they arrived back at the Darcy townhouse, refreshments were served and everyone talked of the play and the upcoming Christmas season. The lively conversation lasted for a while until it grew close to the time for the Gardiners to say their good-byes. "Goodbye." Elizabeth said as she embraced her aunt. "We will see you at Pemberley soon.

After the Gardiners left, everyone else retired for the evening. They all knew that tomorrow would be their last day in London and they had a lot of preparing to do for the two day trip to Pemberley. To make things more comfortable and to give Darcy and Elizabeth some more privacy, Colonel Fitzwilliam is going to escort Georgiana to Pemberley in a separate carriage before leaving to join his regiment which is to be stationed in Lambton, not five miles from Pemberley. Colonel Fitzwilliam will then be able to join the Darcys for Christmas. There were no objections so when it came time to leave London, everyone was settled. They left early so that they would be able to make it to the inn in -shire before dark. Everyone knew it would be a long journey, but Elizabeth and Darcy didn't seem to mind.

    Chapter

    Posted on Friday, 3 December 1999, at 8 : 39 p.m.

In the carriage, Elizabeth shivered. Darcy put his arm around her, adjusted the blanket, and pulled her close to him. The brisk winter air left ice on the windows and the land was frozen. No people were out and about. Everyone was at home close to the warmth of their fires. Elizabeth had relaxed into Darcy's arms and fell into a peaceful sleep that was filled with hopes and wishes for the fast approaching Christmas season. Darcy watched and numerous sighs escaped from Elizabeth. He knew that she was thinking of happy times and hoped that he could make this Christmas a happy one for his beloved wife. Watching Elizabeth, Darcy fell into a peaceful sleep that was also filled with wondrous things. He knew that this would be the first Christmas in a very long time that he would be truly happy. The happy couple remained in the land of dreamers until both were awakened suddenly by a jolt in the carriage. Thinking that it was only a hole in the road, they both relaxed back into their seats. Just as they were on the verge of sleep again, the carriage jolted again. Both Elizabeth and Darcy were thrown onto the floor of the carriage. When they were seated again, Darcy pounded on the roof. The carriage came to a halt and moments later the coachman appeared at the door. "What is causing all of the jolts?" Darcy asked of the coachman.

"The roads are full of holes sir. We tried to go around them, but to no avail. There are just too many. This part of the country has been receiving a lot of rain and it has damaged the roads. especially since it is now ice." the coachman responded.

"Please try to avoid them as best as possible." said Darcy as he motioned for the man to continue on the journey. He hoped that they would be able to reach -shire before dark.

After about fifteen minutes, the jolts finally subsided. Everyone was glad to be able to travel comfortably again. Except for the cool air, everything was peaceful again. Darcy could see the setting sun and hope that there would be no more problems. It would not be good to have to travel at night in the ice and what looked to be approaching snow clouds.

Not before long, the carriages approached the inn without further problems. The sun had set a few minutes ago and the temperature had dropped. The puffs of smoke coming from the chimney of the inn was a warm welcome to the cold passengers. Darcy spoke to the innkeeper to arrange dinner while everyone else stood by the fire to warm themselves. When Darcy came back he walked over to Elizabeth who looked considerably cold. Her face was red from the fire and sudden warmth. He knew that she needed to be warmed, so he led her to their rooms where everyone changed for dinner.

After Darcy had managed to get some warmth into Elizabeth's body, they went downstairs to the dinner that had been laid out for them. It was not elaborate, but it warmed up the coldness that still existed. It was a pleasant dinner with not much excitement and when everyone was finished eating, they adjourned to the drawing room. It was a small but pleasant room with a pianoforte, two sofas, and a few chairs. The fire was burning brightly and the inn was decorated for the approaching Christmas season. Both Darcy and the Colonel were able to persuade Elizabeth and Georgiana to play for them, but only Elizabeth would sing. Georgiana did not yet fell comfortable singing in public. Anyone could walk in. Georgiana played first. The rich sounds of the instrument filled the room. Several other couples came in to hear the music. When Georgiana finished she stood up and quickly moved out of the seat. She felt uncomfortable with other people in the room. She hoped one day that she would be more open. Darcy hoped this also. His sister had always been timid, but he new with the help of Elizabeth, she would break out of the shell in which she lived.

Elizabeth had taken the vacated seat at the pianoforte. The song that she had chosen was a song that was always her favorite. When she was younger her Aunt Gardiner would sing it to her. Her family grew tired of Elizabeth always playing the song, so she did not play it very much. She started to play, but after the first few notes, there was a gasp from the audience. To engrossed in the music, Elizabeth didn't notice. She closed her eyes and just let the notes pour from her heart. When it was completed, she opened her eyes to see Georgiana with tears in her eyes and Darcy and Colonel Fitzwilliam were silent. "Was something wrong with my performance?" Elizabeth asked of the group. She did not understand why she was getting these intense stares. Darcy was the first to speak.

"I'm sorry. It was a wonderful performance. That was truly a marvelous performance. I am only silent because that song that you chose was my mother's favorite. She used to sing it to us when we were younger. That was the first time that I have heard that song since my mother sang it to me before she died." Darcy said in a heavily emotional voice.

"I am so sorry to cause you all pain. I did not mean to. That song has always been my favorite. My Aunt Gardiner would sing it to me when I was a little girl." Elizabeth said with tears now forming in her eyes. Never before had Darcy opened up like this. She could she that he was struggling with his emotions. It was hard for him and she knew that he must have been very close to his mother and must miss her deeply.

Darcy smiled at Elizabeth. He felt touched that Elizabeth was so like his mother. Ever since his mother had died, nothing could replace the emptiness that he felt inside of him. Now, for the first time in a very long time, he had be blessed with the perfect woman to watch after his heart and soul. It was as if his mother had sent Elizabeth to watch over him. At that moment, Darcy realized that he had found his true love and nothing could ever part them. Their minds and souls would be one for all eternity.

    Chapter 14

    Posted on Monday, 27 December 1999, at 10 : 56 p.m.

Georgiana was the first to break the silence that had spread throughout the room. "I believe that I shall retire now."

"As will we," Elizabeth added. Everyone left the room for their separate bedchambers to dream of happy times. They knew that this was the going to be a wonderful Christmas. Each person had an idea of how everything was going to turn out. Darcy and Elizabeth went into their chamber and started to get ready for bed. Elizabeth went into the next room to get her nightgown. Thoughts ran through her head. Tonight had been very interesting. It was the first night she had seen her husband open up in public, even if there was only family around. She wondered if this would be a repeated practice and hoped that her husband would let her cure all the hurt that Darcy had held back for so long. She knew that he was the strong one. He had to be for his sister's sake, but she knew that he just needed to let his feelings out.

When Elizabeth returned to the room, she found Darcy lying on the bed. She could see a lone tear on his cheek. She knew that this was when he needed her. She walked over to the bed and put her arms around Darcy. He in turn put his around her. She could hear the faint sobs coming from him. She knew that he was trying to hide them. "Talk to me." Elizabeth said softly into his ear. "Let it out. It will make you feel so much better. You have been strong for so many years. Let me be the strong one. I cannot imagine living without my parents. I know you have held your feelings in for so long."

Darcy at that moment knew that she was his guardian angel. He knew that he could let down his defense. She would always be there for him and he knew it. Elizabeth felt his arms tighten around her. The sobs grew louder and she knew that he was releasing all the pain that he had locked up inside of him. She rocked him and he started to talk about his mother when he was younger. He told her everything, all of his memories and feelings that he had locked up inside of him. He had never told anyone what he was telling Elizabeth at this moment, but he could feel the pain slipping away. She listened while rubbing his back and rocking. He felt as if it was his mother soothing him after he had a bad dream. As if everything bad that had happened to him was all a bad dream. Elizabeth was taking all the hurt away and replacing it with happiness. He knew that he would always miss his parents, but somehow he felt as if he could for the first time be truly happy.

After talking about his mother, he talked about his father and how he had changed after his mother's death. It seemed to as if he had lost his will to live. He knew that if he lost Elizabeth, he would feel the same way. For the first time, he understood what his father must have felt after the death of his mother.

The memories came rushing into his head. It was as if Elizabeth had opened and old box in the attic with dozens of old keepsakes. He let the tears pour from his eyes as Elizabeth rocked him. The sobs that came from his throat were healing little by little the hurt that he felt. Elizabeth lay her head down on the pillow and held Darcy closer to her. He was sobbing uncontrollably and she knew that he needed this release. She did not realize that he had so much inside of him. They remained thus until dawn until Darcy finally fell into a light sleep. When the sun rose, the tears still glistened on his cheeks and with a last glance at her husband, Elizabeth finally fell asleep with Darcy's head resting on her and his arms wound tightly around her.

    Chapter 15

    Posted on Friday, 28 January 2000, at 9 : 36 p.m.

When Darcy awoke, he felt as if he had awakened from a dream. He felt like a new man. He knew that Elizabeth did not get a lot of sleep, so he decided to take his bath. He rang down for a bath and was soon sitting in the warm water. He for the first time felt truly happy. I was as if someone he finally crossed that bridge that led to complete happiness. He new Elizabeth was a treasure and curing the sadness he held in his chest was a an almost impossible task and she had overcome it. He now truly believed that she was his guardian angel sent by his mother to watch over him. He no longer felt the pressure in his chest. He could think clearly and he felt like flying. Realizing the time, he got out of the bath and dressed. He went in to the room to find Elizabeth still asleep. She looked like an angel and her girls were everywhere. He knew that she did not get very much sleep, but if they were to make it to Pemberley before dark, they must leave within the hour. He walked over to the bed and sat on the edge. He leaned over and kissed Elizabeth. He could feel her slowly awaking, but he new she was in a deep sleep. He brushed his fingers over her cheek moving her beautiful curls away from her face. "My darling Elizabeth, I know you are tired, but you must get up if we are to make it to Pemberley before dark." Darcy murmured in her ear. She fluttered her eyelashes and stretched her arms. Darcy enjoyed watching her awaken. When she finally had awaken fully, she sat up. Darcy could see that she was exhausted and he wished that he didn't have to awaken her so early. "You may sleep in the carriage, but you must get up now. I must apologize about last night. I kept you up all night talking about my problems. I can't say that I regret what I said, however. I feel like a new man and I have you to thank."

"There is no need to apologize my love." Elizabeth said sleepily. "I felt as if for the first time I truly connected with you. I felt a part of you and I felt that I was where I belonged. This may sound strange, but I felt so alive last night. I was of use to someone like I have never been before. You have changed my perspective on life. I never wish to change and I do not want you to ever feel regret at sharing any of your feelings." Elizabeth stood up and wrapped her arms around Darcy's waist. "I loved you last night more than words could describe and now, there is no way to describe my feelings. They will never falter and you will only live to see them grow stronger as the years go by. We will have many happy years together and we will live to see many happy generation follow us. People will hear of our story in the future and they will yearn to have what we have." Elizabeth felt Darcy pull her closer to him.

"Elizabeth you astonish me. Perhaps it was the way that you just said your feelings for me or perhaps it was the way you helped me release all the tension in my heart. I do not know how you do what you do. You are my guardian angel and I love you with the same depth as you have previously expressed. I know that fairy tales do not come true, but this my love, is my fairy tale and it did come true. I may not have gone from rags to riches, but I went from loneliness to overwhelming happiness. Thank you so much for everything that you have done for me and my family which is now your family. You may never feel unneeded again. I will always need you and I will continue to be with you for the rest of our lives. When we are old, our love will only be stronger. I hope you realize that I would never leave you and you need never worry about losing my affections." Darcy said while placing his finger under Elizabeth's chin and lifting her head so that he could look in her eyes.

"You have no idea how wonderful I feel at this moment. I must promise the same to you. You also need not worry about the loss of my affections, but if we remain talking about this subject any longer, we will never be able to make it to Pemberley and start our lives together." Elizabeth responded.

"You are mistaken my love, our lives together started when I first saw you at the Meryton assembly. We did not realize it then, but I know it now that we were destined to be together. We have gone through many hardships and more are to come, but our marriage will be and will always be a blissful one."

    Chapter 16A

Darcy kissed Elizabeth then left to finish dressing while Elizabeth rang for a bath to be drawn for her. Everything was perfect in her life and Darcy was to thank for it. She felt this new life of hers would be an adventure that she as prepared to embark on with her husband. There will be tough times, but that will only make the marriage stronger. Elizabeth, after finishing her bath, continued to dress. She had a new strength within herself. No one could stop her from achieving a blissful marriage.

With everyone dressed and breakfast completed, Darcy, Elizabeth, Georgiana, and Colonel Fitzwilliam were ready to leave for Pemberley. The air was brisk and the ground was covered with a blanket of snow. There were rhythms of smoke dancing from chimney to chimney and there were little birds searching for food. Elizabeth took a deep breath and let the serenity of a winter morning soak in. She looked around and saw everyone in the little town preparing for another hard say of labor. She knew that she was lucky to not have such hard labor, yet she knew that she would never be able to feel the pride that those who work very hard to support heir family felt when they have a good season. She respected everyone in the little town. Inside one of the houses she could see a women preparing bread for the day. There was a little boy at the table studying his books. She looked on the scene with pleasure. She hoped that she herself would have children one day.

"My dear, what are you thinking?" Darcy said as Elizabeth turned to greet his smiling eyes.

"I was just looking at the surroundings and thinking. Look at the people. They work very hard all there life and I feel as if I do not work hard yet receive so much more. I know that they take pride in what they do and I hope that I will someday be able to feel as much pride as they feel." Elizabeth answered.

"You will my darling, you will."

The party go into the carriage after thanking the people at the inn for the lovely stay. They set off towards Pemberley where their lives together would be happy. The party inside the carriage talked little, but no one seemed to mind. Everyone was enjoying the beautiful scenery. Elizabeth fell asleep on Darcy's shoulder and Darcy covered her with a blanket. He knew that she was tired, so he decided to get some sleep as the Georgiana and Colonel Fitzwilliam were in a conversation of their own. It was a wonderful day and nothing could go wrong.

Darcy was awakened by a tap on the roof of the carriage. He knew that they were almost to Pemberley. He looked outside at the familiar sights. The rolling hills were covered in snow. He awakened the rest of the party and everyone started to freshen up. The closer they came to Pemberley, the more nervous Elizabeth seemed to get. She was mistress now and she held a great deal of responsibility. She was afraid that she would mess something up, but she knew that Darcy would always help and support her. She hoped that her new life would be filled with happiness.

The carriage stopped and Georgiana and the Colonel got out of the carriage. Darcy remained in the carriage with Elizabeth. "Now my dear, we have come home. The servants will have gathered so that they can meet their new mistress, Are you up to the introduction? I know that you must be tired."

"Yes, my dear, I am fine. I would love to meet everyone, although I admit that I am scared that they will not like me." Elizabeth said quietly.

"They will adore you my love. No one that meets you could ever dislike you. You put a spell on whoever you meet, including myself.

"Perhaps Ms. Bingley feels differently." Elizabeth said with a laugh.

"Yes perhaps she does." Elizabeth felt some of her nervousness leave her. She was ready to enter her new home. Darcy helper her out of the carriage then took her arm. He led her to the open door. Inside there was a line of servants waiting to meet the new mistress. Elizabeth was excited and scared at the same time. She saw so many people. How was she ever to remember all of their names? Elizabeth was met with a smiling Mrs. Reynolds.

"Welcome Mrs. Darcy to your new home. We are all so happy that you have come to live with us. There will more life put back into this house now that you are here. Allow me to introduce you to the house staff." Mrs. Reynolds then took Elizabeth down the line of servants. She made sure that she smiled and spoke to each. Darcy could see that the servants were in awe of the new Mrs. Darcy. She had captured them as well.

    Chapter 16B

When all the greetings finished, Darcy took Elizabeth upstairs to change for dinner and to show her to her rooms. Darcy had some surprises waiting for her in her bedchamber that he wanted to give to her, so they headed upstairs followed by Elizabeth's maid with her things and Darcy's valet with his. When they reached the door, the servants went in and started unpacking. Elizabeth gasped at the size of the room. It was a beautiful room with ivory colored walls. There was an ornate fireplace at one end of the room that had two doors on each side. In front of the fire was a little sitting area where there was a sofa and two chairs with a table in front of the sofa. On the table was a book and a velvet book with a ribbon tied tightly around it. Elizabeth asked about it and Darcy told her that it was for later. She was curious about them, but wanted to continue her search of the room. On the other side there was a door, a very large bed with a white comforter, and a table by the bed. There was a chaise at the end of the bed and a chest under one of the windows on the far wall. There was a balcony that when Elizabeth looked out of, she could see the beautiful countryside. There were flowers all over the room and it was warm from the fire. Everything was perfect. "It is wonderful," Elizabeth exclaimed. "I could not imagine a better room. I will just change for dinner and then I will be ready."

"Very well, I will meet you in the drawing room on the north side of the house. Your maid will show you the way." Darcy said with a smile. He left her standing just inside her room. He knew that she would be happy here.

When Darcy left, Elizabeth continued to look around. She opened the door near her bed. There was a small nursery that looked as if it had not been used in a very long time as she knew that it had not. She hoped that it would be used soon. To be a mother and give Darcy an heir was one of her fondest wish now that she was married. She closed the nursery door and went back into the main room. She saw her maid Ann in her dressing her to the left of the fireplace, so she assumed that the other door led to her husbands room. Not wanting to embarrass herself again by walking into the room she decided that she would save that door for later, so she asked her maid to bring her a dress and to help her fix her hair. When she was ready she followed the maid down stairs where Darcy was waiting for her.

"Was everything to your liking my love?" Darcy asked upon Elizabeth's entrance.

"Oh yes, everything was perfect. I can not begin to describe how happy I am, but right now I am starving. Where are Georgiana and the Colonel?"

"They are going to meet us in the dining room, so shall we go and meet them?"

    "Yes, let us go."

Inside the dining room, Georgiana and the Colonel were seated. They stood up when Darcy and Elizabeth entered. "I hope you liked your room Lizzy." Georgiana asked after she sat down.

"Oh yes, it was wonderful." She answered, but conversation ended when the dinner was brought in. The food smelled wonderful to Elizabeth. She had not eaten very much, so anything would smell good to her. When the dishes were lifted, Elizabeth saw all types of food. There was more food then she had ever imagined and it all tasted wonderful. After dessert, Elizabeth and Georgiana went to have tea in the sitting room, leaving Darcy and Colonel Fitzwilliam to their port.

"Oh Georgiana, I am so happy that you are my sister. I hope that we will become true friends and that you will come to me if you want to talk about anything."

"Oh I will. I am so happy that we are sisters now. You have made my brother so happy."

"I hope that I have. Now if only he and the Colonel would join us. You are wonderful company, but I must admit that I do not like to be out of your brother's company for very long." Elizabeth said with embarrassment. Just as Elizabeth finished speaking Darcy entered as if he knew that she was wishing he was there.

"I believe that it is time to retire. We have had a long day and not much sleep. Show we go to our chambers Elizabeth?"

"Yes, you must have read my mind. besides, you never told what was in that box on the table in my room. You must not forget that. I am very curious."

"I knew that you wouldn't forget that." Darcy responded. "Shall we go and see?"

"Yes, goodnight Georgiana and Colonel Fitzwilliam. We will see you in the morning." With that said, they went upstairs to their chambers. Darcy followed Elizabeth into her room and sat down on the bed. "Now tell me what is in the box." Elizabeth said excitedly.

"Don't you want to wait until the morning. I thought you were tired." Darcy said jokingly.

"Oh no, I am not that tired." Elizabeth felt like a child at Christmas. Darcy walked over to the table and got the box. He brought it back over to the bed and handed it to her.

"This is for you, it is not new, but I want you to have it since you are the new mistress of this house. It was my mother's. Open it and see if you like it." Elizabeth opened the velvet box and saw the most beautiful necklace she had ever seen. It was a gold chain with a few small diamonds.

"Oh it is so beautiful. I love it and I will feel honored to wear it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart." Elizabeth said. She flung her arms around his neck and he carried her to the bed for their first night together at Pemberley.

    Chapter 17

    Posted on Monday, 5 June 2000, at 8 : 24 p.m.

The next day dawned brightly. Elizabeth and Darcy slept comfortably in their large bed while outside the world of Pemberley was beginning. The servants were awake and starting fires throughout the house to warm the inhabitants while the cooks were preparing breakfast for the master and his new bride. All was peaceful in the great house as Elizabeth slowly opened her eyes for her first morning at Pemberley. She felt her husband's arms around her and she could here his soft breathing. She was finally here after all this time. She remembered the last time she was here visiting with her Aunt and Uncle. She would never have imagined that she would be in this position now. It still seemed like a dream to her. She removed herself from Darcy's embrace and got out of bed. As soon as she got out from under the covers, the cold air hit her. She reached for her robe and a blanket. The fire had long since died, so she rang downstairs for a servant to build it up again. When the maid arrived she rebuilt the fire and then asked her mistress if she would like a bath prepared. Elizabeth then said, "Thank you yes, if you would please send Ann up so that she can help me, I would very much appreciate it."

"Of course madam, anything you wish. If there is anything else, do not hesitate to ring." As the maid said this she curtsied and then left the room. Elizabeth was once again by herself with her husband still asleep. When Ann arrived to prepare her bath, Elizabeth left so that she would not disturb her husband. She knew that he was tired and that he would not get a lot of rest with her family coming for Christmas. It would be a trying experience and she hoped that her mother would not embarrass her. At least Lydia was unable to attend. Her husband was not ready to accept her into his house and she was not sure if she was either. It would be a long time before she would ever be able to forgive Lydia for what she did, but it was her sister and she still loved her. Putting aside unhappy memories, Elizabeth thought of what happiness was also to come. Jane would be here as well as her father whom she missed greatly.

After her bath, Ann helped her to dress and then did her hair. She wore a festive green dress with her hair pulled up in her normal fashion. She was glad that her new maid was able to do her hair as she wished. When she went back into the bedroom, she found Darcy no longer in the bed. He was sitting in a chair by the fire already dressed. "Well there is my missing wife. I thought she had abandoned me this morning. I awoke for the first time by myself."

"Yes, I did not want to wake you. You were sleeping so peacefully that I thought it best to let you alone. We have busy days to come with our relatives coming and I knew that you would need all the rest that you can get." Elizabeth responded with a sparkle in her eyes. Darcy got and walked over to where Elizabeth was standing. He embraced her and they left the room together to get some breakfast.

When they arrived in the dining room, the servants brought in their breakfast. The food was delicious and Elizabeth knew that she would gain fifty pounds living in this house, so she ate some toast and drank a cup of tea with lemon. Darcy however, attacked his breakfast with vigor. His appetite was great and Elizabeth laughed in spite of herself. When breakfast was complete, Darcy excused himself to take care of some business that had piled up in his long absence. He was sorry to leave his wife, but he knew that she had a lot to do in order to prepare for the Christmas festivities. It is going to be a wonderful Christmas and Darcy was anxious to see what Elizabeth had planned. The relatives were due in two days, so Darcy decided to get his business completed early so that he could savor his alone time with Elizabeth.

After Darcy gave Elizabeth a kiss he left her in the care of Mrs. Reynolds. Together they would make the perfect Christmas. Elizabeth and Mrs. Reynolds adjourned to Elizabeth's sitting room to discuss the forthcoming events. Elizabeth wanted everything to be perfect. She wanted this Christmas to be a memorable one and she wanted to bring life back into this gloomy house. It would be a wonderful Christmas, of that she had no doubt.

Elizabeth had done all of her Christmas shopping before her wedding because she knew that she would have no time to shop while in London. For her father, she had bought three books of which he had wanted but could not find; for her mother she had gotten a bottle of rose water and a new pair of gloves; for Mary and Kitty, she had a bonnet mad for each; for her sister Jane, she had a package of stationary printed with her name on them and she bought a journal, and finally for her husband, she had a surprise, she and Georgiana had planned together to giver Darcy a Christmas he would never forget. Together, they bought him a new pair of riding boots, a new crop, and several books that would interest him. Elizabeth also wanted to give him something special for their first Christmas together, so she had a miniature painted of her self right before her wedding with an inscription placed on the back of the frame.

    To my husband,

May our days together be blissful.

    Elizabeth

When it was time for luncheon, Elizabeth and Mrs. Reynolds put their plans aside. Mrs. Reynolds left to retrieve Mr. Darcy from him study while Elizabeth went into the dining room to await for his arrival. When he arrived, Darcy immediately walked over to wear Elizabeth was sitting and gave her a kiss. "I missed you my love."

"I missed you also, so we better enjoy our lunch together because I still have a lot to do in order to prepare for the coming days and I am sure that you have a lot of work to do that you have been neglecting in order to spend with me."

"Yes, I admit that I still have quite a bit to do, but I will always make time for my wife." Darcy responded with a smile which showed his dimples. When the food was brought in Elizabeth and Darcy ate peacefully. They enjoyed spending time together even if they weren't talking. Just being in each others company made them happy. They looked forward to many other times where they could just sit and be happy. It would be a blissful marriage Elizabeth thought to herself. She was sure of it.

The next two days passed quickly. All of the plans for Christmas were completed and all that was left to do was wait for the guests to arrive. Elizabeth hoped that everyone would make it safely because the weather had turned had an ominous look. She hoped that the snow would hold off until everyone had arrived.

The first of the guests to arrive were Jane and Bingley. Elizabeth ran to giver her sister a hug. She missed her so much and to have her with her again was a great comfort. The Bingleys had agreed to spend a month with the Darcys so that they could look at surrounding estates. They wanted to move away from Longbourne and Bingley knew that Jane would like to be close to her sister. After Jane and Bingley were taken upstairs to freshen themselves up, Elizabeth and Darcy waited for the rest of the guests in the sitting room. The next to arrive was the Gardiners followed by Lord and Lady Matlock along with the Colonel and Georgiana. Elizabeth was glad to see her new sister and hoped that they would become very close. The house started to brighten up and the only people that were left to arrive were Elizabeth's parents and sisters. Elizabeth had been preparing herself all day for her mother and knew that she would not let her mother get to her. She was not going to let her ruin her first Christmas with Darcy.

When the carriage finally pulled up, Elizabeth grabbed her shawl and went out to meet them. She could hear her mother's voice as soon as she stepped out of the house and she knew that it was going to be a long visit from them. She rushed over to the carriage where she could hear her mother commenting on how rich her daughter is and how Kitty and Mary were to be on their best behavior so that they could also meet rich husbands like their sisters have done. Mr. Bennet was the first to see Elizabeth as he rolled his eyes at her before exiting the carriage. He helped his wife and daughters down and them they all walked into the house where everyone else was waiting. Darcy walked over to greet Mr. and Mrs. Bennet and welcome them to Pemberley while Elizabeth stood by his side. She wanted to shelter him from her mother and knew that his Aunt and Uncle were standing over in the corner. She hoped that her mother would harbor some restraint. She was glad when the size of the house and the interiors seemed to have startled her into silence which was a blessing in itself. When all the salutations were given everyone except the Darcys and Bingleys left to rest before dinner. Elizabeth let out a sigh of relief as she sat down on a sofa. Darcy sat down next to her and took hold of her hand. A servant brought in some tea and the four of them talked of the past few weeks to catch up with each other until dinner the rest of the guests came in and dinner was called.
