'What? Are you serious Jane?' I yelled 'How could you even think about marrying him?'

'Because Lizzy, he will provide a good home and it is a very good match.' Jane said calmly.

'I just don't get it. I mean just two weeks ago he proposed to me, claiming that he loved me. Why would Mr. Darcy then propose to you?'

'Because we both have been rejected Elizabeth, myself by Mr. Bingley and him by you. Misery loves misery.'

'I still don't get it Jane. After everything that happened in Hertfordshire and me even now telling you that he proposed to me two week ago, you can still consent to marry him.' I said pacing around the parlor.

'Look Lizzy, I know that it is weird but it is what both him and I want. Please dearest, respect my wishes and accept it that in one week I am going to marry Mr. Darcy.'

'But what about Mr. Bingley? Maybe he has been mislead, maybe he still loves you.'

'No. Mr. Darcy told me himself that Mr. Bingley doesn't care about me anymore.' Jane said sadly and walked out.

I sat down and started to cry. I was crying for Jane and for myself. Because over the past two weeks I realized that Mr. Darcy is the one for me. He is the only man I could ever think of marring and loving. I guess I realized this when Jane announced that she was to marry him. How could she? How will I be able to face him? He will be my brother-in-law, I don't think I can ever accept that.

Just then I saw Jane walk back in and I decided to try and reason with her again.

'But Jane, please think about it.'

'Lizzy, I don't understand why are you having such a rough time with this? Unless...' she trailed off.

    'Unless what Jane?'

'Unless there is another reason why you don't want me to marry him.'

    'Like what?' I said nervously.

'I don't know, you tell me.'

'What do you want me to say that I love him. Huh is that what you want. Well fine Jane,' I said raising my voice. "I love Mr. Darcy, over the past two weeks I have been miserable and now you are telling me that you are to marry the man I love. Well it finally made me realize that I am head over heals in love with your finance. There are you happy Jane?' I said with my eyes blazing at her.

'Yes I am Lizzy, and so is he...'Jane said with a grin. And with that Mr. Darcy walked into the room.

'What? I don't get it. Jane what is going on.' I said very confused.

'Well it's like this,' Mr. Darcy started. 'I met Miss Bennet shortly after returning from Kent and told her the truth about my involvement with the separation of her and Bingley. I also told Bingley. And we all got talking and decided to try something to get make us all happy. I wanted to see how you felt after I gave you the letter.'

'So you all set me up!' I said angrily. 'I can't believe you Jane, how could you do this to me?' I said very loud and stormed out.

'Miss Bennet wait! Please Elizabeth, I am sorry.' Mr. Darcy was calling after me.

I stopped and turned around and looked at him. I couldn't help but grin at the whole situation.

'What is wrong Miss Bennet?' he said with a confused look.

'Nothing, nothing at all. It's just so funny, that's all. I got setup by a person who I thought didn't have a sense of humor or would try anything risky.' I said with a grin.

'Yes well, this was pretty risky, I think though the most appropriate word would be desperate. Because this was a desperate attempt, wouldn't you agree Miss Bennet?

'Yes I would Mr. Darcy and I am glad that you did it.' I said smiling sweetly at him.

He inched closer and said with emotion, 'Marry me Elizabeth?'

'Of course, there is nothing that would make me happier.'

He grinned and placed his hand gently on my face and bent down and kissed me. And I, found myself kissing him fiercely as he was me.

When we parted he said, 'I love you Elizabeth.'

'And I love you Fitzwilliam.' I replied.

Just then we heard something behind us and we turned to see Mr. Bingley and Jane grinning at us. It took me only second later to figure it out. 'You two are getting married, aren't you Jane?'

'Yes I am Lizzy, I was telling you the truth. I am engaged, just not to Mr. Darcy.'

'Well you aren't, but I most happily am.' I said grinning.

'Congratulations! Darcy and Miss Bennet, I know that you two will be happy.' Mr. Bingley said in his usual happy tone.

'Thank you Mr. Bingley. I know that we will and I know that you and my sister will be happy as well.'

And a week later I became Mrs. Fitzwilliam Darcy, and I was truly happy.
