Miss Isabella Thorpe

    By Marsha

    The flighty Isabella
    was always on the catch
She thought James was her fellow,
    but Tilney's better catch.

    "All men are overbearing"
    Thus Catherine she taught,
But when she saw them staring,
    All precepts went for naught.

She preached but did not practice,
    And follow them she must.
    She managed to playact with
    Poor naive Catherine's trust.

She taught her to read stories
    And fashions to display,
    But caused her manifold worries
    And no end of dismay.

    For acting with her brother,
    Together and apart,
    By one means or another
    They almost broke her heart.

    Cat triumphed (she's not shallow):
    In heaven's made her match.
    And as for Isabella?
Why, she's still on the catch.
