Author's note: This is an idea I had a while back for a story. Some of the plot is also found in some other stories on the Guild. This story is P&P with one twist: The Bennets have an heir who is Lydia's twin brother(name of David), but he is nothing like her as far as common sense goes. This takes place six years after Lizzy and Darcy are married and Charles and Jane Bingley have moved from Netherfield.

David Bennet had just returned home from Pemberley where he was visiting his sister, brother-in-law and his niece and nephew. The visit had gone well enough and had been pleasant, but lately David had been feeling lonely. He felt as as if there were something missing from his life. At times he was downright deppressed about it. "Why do I always feel so alone anymore?" he asked as he walked in the garden at Longbourne. "I feel as though I'm incomplete right now, as if something or rather, someone is missing in my life." He knew that Georgiana felt the same way for they were fairly close friends, though Georgiana was closer to Kitty, who now went by Cathy. With his head hang down sadly, he walked back into the house for dinner.

"Ahhh! My dear sweet boy, how are you? You seem to have neglected me when you came home. You delight in vexing me!" Mrs Bennet shrieked when she saw her son at the dinner table.

"Hello Mama, are your nerves all right or should I be prepared to have some compassion on them? David replied, without answering her question.

"Oh, they are tolerable enough I suppose, but not nearly well enough to suit me. It does help to have Mary engaged to that nice young clerk from my brother's office. I shall go distracted! To be left with only one daughter in need of a husband! God has been good to us, my dear son!"

After Twenty-one years of living, it still amazed David that his mama could talk so much without needing to breathemore that twice when giving out gossip of her own to anyone who could pretend to be interested in what she was saying.

'So David, Have you proposed to Miss Darcy yet,? Any pretty, rich girl will do, though you really should chuse Miss Darcy for she will throw Kitty, although I cannot understand why she prefers to be called Cathy now, into the paths of other eligible, rich young men."

David immediately felt a sharp pain in his heart, for marriage was always his desire, but seemed to escape him when he came close to the matrimonial state. It often put him into severe depression.

" How is Georgianna, Davey?" asked Cathy in order to change the subject so Mrs. Bennet's inquiries would not further hurt David.

" She is quite well, I assure you and sends her best wishes to you all." replied David, not in the mood to really talk much.

Three months past and Lizzy, Darcy and Georgianna found themselves at Longbourne. David and Georgianna found themselves in company with each other and soon fell in love. David prosed two days before the Darcys were to go to London and was accepted by Georgianna, and her brother's consent was given. The wedding was to be three months later, at Pemberley.

A fortnight after the Darcys left for London, there appeared at Longbourne the bossiest person in all of England: Lady Catherine de Bourgh.(author's note: It is a truth universally acknowledged that no P&P fanfic involving a Bennet, a Darcy and marriage is complete without an appearance by Lady Catherine.) " No doubt she's here here to refuse her consent, eh, my boy?" Mr Bennet chuckled at his son.

"Most likely." was all his son repied.

Lady Catherine entered the room anfd immediately atarted her tirade. "This shall not be born, you penniless rake? I will not have it!

" I have not the pleasure of understading you Lady Catherine. Of what are you speaking?" David knew , of what she was speaking of but the truth was that he just wanted to get her going.

You will not marry my niece Georgianna! I FORBID IT! she screamed at David Bennet.

At this David decided that he would not fiddle around like Lizzy did. "Too bad Lady Catherine, neither she nor her brother object, so you can have nothing to say on that score." With that David had Hill show Lady Catherine to the door.

"I am most seriously displeased!" Lady Catherine cried out as she left Longbourne.

The time until the wedding passed quickly and soon the day itself came when David was united in marriage to Georgianna never to feel that pain of loneliness again. Life afterwards had its difficulties for them, but they were not alone, for they had each other, worked together and solved their aguments satisfactorily.

    The End

Author's note: If anyone would wish to write a sequel, they may do so under these guidlines: 1) Little or no angst2) Georgi and David start the sequel already married, 3)They have an heir in the story, and 4) If possible, I would like to see the sequel ended in a maximum of three posts to the Board.
