Oh dear, now things really are getting complicated! Poor Felicity! But really, I think her temper is making her be a trifle unfair to both Sir Albert and Andrew-- and now I really don't know which of them my ultimate sympathies lie with!! Looking forward to seeing how this plays out with this new complication...by SarahC. - A Novel Idea
Aha! I am duly chastened for unfairly blaming poor innocent Gilly. Especially since he was so good a brother as to explain it to Felicity! I feel badly for Andrew but I have to admit that I'm softening towards Sir Albert so now I'm really unsure about which of them I want to be the hero so I have all sympathies for Felicity trying to figure it out. Can't wait for more!!by SarahC. - A Novel Idea
Oh dear, what made Andrew start acting so cold? I'm getting the impression Gilly put his foot in it, saying something that Andrew (probably) misunderstood-- but what? Surely Gilly didn't tell Andrew that Felicity was engaged to someone else! Beyond that, I'm having trouble thinking of what would make Andrew act like that. Can't wait for more!!by SarahC. - A Novel Idea
Welcome back!!!! Finding that you'd posted an update has been the best part of my day!! It's nice to see George beginning to pay more attention to Sarah and Sarah is holding her own when it comes to other gentlemen. I noticed that George called her his love too and am wondering just how conscious it was, especially as I am not sure that George has fallen in love with her yet... It is, aby SarahC. - A Novel Idea
I don't think my problem is so much with Mr. Bennet telling Darcy that it was Elizabeth as it was the way he phrased it, as someone else has pointed out in the comments, saying that Elizabeth was "spreading tales" which rather implies some deliberate lying. He could have said something like "I wonder how Elizabeth came to make such a mistake"-- which is, in fact, what happened. But no, Mr. Bennby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Oh now, I think that was rather badly done of Mr. Bennet! I can understand enjoying Mrs. Bennet making a fool of herself but to throw Elizabeth under the bus like that, and only for Darcy's benefit, seems a little much! Elizabeth's mistake was an honest one-- and a rather understandable one under the circumstances-- since, after all, Darcy was acting as Bingley's steward, even if it was purelby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Nice one! I like how Felicity gave Sir Albert his comeuppance. I've decided that Sir Albert is much too glib and charming for his own good so I am hoping Andrew is the hero and wins Felicity right out from under his brother's nose! Can't wait for more!!by SarahC. - A Novel Idea
Oho, now we see the meaning of the title!! Now the question is, which will be Felicity's hero? Both Sir Albert and Mr. Andrew appear to have distinct potential!!by SarahC. - A Novel Idea
LOL. Oh these misunderstandings and confusions-- understandable as poor Elizabeth's mistake was-- are quite funny! I think Mr. Bennet is, as usual, being a tad insensitive in his quest for fun but I'm sure Elizabeth will forgive him once Darcy forgives her!! Can't wait to see what this dinner brings!by SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Thanks for the update! I was just wondering myself what the status was and so I wandered over here to see if there was any word. Good luck finding the inspiration to finish!! I can't wait to read more of it!!by SarahC. - Tea Room
This little romance between Felicity and Sir Albert is progressing nicely-- rather too nicely. I'm sure you must have some complications planned to throw in their way-- the course of true love never running smooth and all that. Can't wait to see what happens next!!by SarahC. - A Novel Idea
Oho, now that's progress!!! I see Elizabeth is too lost in her misery to pick up on Mr. Bennet's hints. Does this mean she'll find out at the Assembly, in public? I can see distinct potential in that, although her embarrassment is likely to be greater... As a side note, can I just say I absolutely LOVE the description of how Quoteabsence diminished small passions and increased great onesby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Silly Amelia! What else was she possibly expecting to lead a rake on and then rejecting him like that-- twice, at that! She is lucky that Rupert saved her from her own foolishness!! I'm also glad to see that Rupert (finally) dropped his teasing act and was finally serious about his feelings-- and hers, of course. A very cute ending, thank you!!by SarahC. - A Novel Idea
Bingley really is adorable and hilarious when he's drunk! His confidence in Darcy is also endearing. I can't wait to see how the two of them celebrate Darcy's engagement!!by SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I must say I am really afraid Rupert is taking the wrong tack by being so constantly teasing and lighthearted. He's giving Amelia no reason to trust the seriousness of his feelings-- or even believe he has serious feelings for her at all. The penultimate chapter! Noooo!! I really hate to see this story end!!by SarahC. - A Novel Idea
George really is getting to seem scarily perfect. And he, Emma, and baby Elinor really make the most adorable little family. I just love it!by SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Oh now things are getting really interesting!!! I can't wait to see when and how Mr. Bennet reveals what he's found out about Mr. Darcy and how Elizabeth deals with Darcy's leaving. Also I must say I am really enjoying this nice little "reversal" of pride where it's Elizabeth's pride in her supposed station as opposed to Darcy's keeping her from entertaining any serious designs on him. Lovby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Oh finally, we get some more interaction between Rupert and Amelia alone! I admit to being a little disappointed at how deliberately teasing Rupert was; I was hoping the news that Amelia had rejected Sir Peter would have led him to be a little more forthright about his own feelings... I am very glad to see just how comfortable Amelia is with Rupert that she's willing to nestle against him, thby SarahC. - A Novel Idea
Oh I love it!! Poor Darcy's frustration was so funny to watch but I have to admit my favorite moment may have been the moment when Caroline escaped Bingley's blockade and saw Darcy and Elizabeth. (I'm not a nice person, apparently. At least not where she's concerned.) I also love how the game of Consequences turned out!! Very clever! Can't wait to read more of your writing.by SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Now this should be interesting. Surely Darcy has realized by now-- after the Mrs. Nichols reference-- that everyone is assuming him to be Bingley's steward? But how to correct the misapprehension? I doubt Darcy knows how, although he might make it clear to Mrs. Nichols at least. I'd imagine he doesn't want to mention it to Elizabeth himself because she is going to be so mortified. I amby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Oh now this is a Darcy I love, the man of action! And I have to say I envy Jane and Elizabeth the view they had of watching Bingley and Darcy pushing the carriage! That must have been quite a sight!! As for Elizabeth, I'm glad she's not any more injured than she is but I can't imagine the Gardiners-- sensible as they are-- are going to be thrilled to see their niece returning from a drive inby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Hmm, I hope this growing acquaintance with Lady Wilmott gives Amelia more cause to doubt whether she could truly be happy living with her mother-in-law's strictures for life! It sounds rather stifling. As for Rupert, I'm glad he's finally learning not to act so teasing and nonchalant all the time. Now I wonder how long it will take before Amelia gives in and uses the key...by SarahC. - A Novel Idea
Oh this was a lovely beginning! I think you've captured Elizabeth's voice in her letters very well. It's interesting to find out more about Darcy's family too. I'm looking forward to more of this!!by SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I think Aunt Seraphina is, in spite of her good intentions, really not helping matters at all with her constantly seeming to foist Rupert on Amelia. It's bound to make anyone with a shred of spirit want to rebel-- and Amelia has that. Really, Rupert might want to tell Aunt Seraphina to stop trying to help him! I am getting a little concerned that Amelia is in a mood to do something terriblby SarahC. - A Novel Idea
Oh I am so glad to see another of your lovely stories!! This one seems like a lot of fun. This Darcy comes off as being rather more arrogant than usual but this is all setting up to be very intriguing! I can't wait to see how Elizabeth and Darcy manage to overcome the awkwardness in order to facilitate Jane and Bingley's little romance. (Can I just say, too, that you write Bingley so well?by SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
As if the rest of the chapter wasn't enough, something about the last line just made me melt. "Tell me of your home."!!! And from all we know of Darcy, that one line alone would have made him fall even more in love with Elizabeth than he already was! I am glad that they're coming to an understanding of each other. It seems very natural that being stuck as they are, both exhausted and hunby SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Oh dear. Things were going so nicely too! I loved how you showed that they were really talking to each other and exchanging opinions and thoughts... And of course the almost-kiss! Amelia is being stubborn-- but on the other hand, which of us really wants to admit being totally mistaken about someone? And I also think that Rupert is doing himself no favors by always appearing so nonchalanby SarahC. - A Novel Idea
Aha, so Amelia is showing some jealousy after all!! Really, though, with her (and Rupert's) pride, it's going to take some doing to get those two to admit what they really feel! This should be a lot of fun! Can't wait for more!!by SarahC. - A Novel Idea
Good lord, Hannah is thick! I am impressed at Emma's still being willing to even see Hannah again after everything she's done. As for George, well, I always knew he's a hero. So glad to see more of this!by SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Oh now this is a new twist to the story!! Looking forward to seeing how it develops from here!!by SarahC. - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
