Oh dear... so many, but here are some that have been favourites that I go back to again and again: An Appropriate Education by Sharni Crossing Paths by Cheryl K. Everingham by Katharine T. (MP) The Firstborn by Mags. (because Henry Tilney = win :-D ~ NA/P&P) Honor and Duty by Emma EA (modern) Mr. Darcy Makes Amends by Kathy (so funny!! :D) Of Time Gone By by Bekah Longbourne Academy by Mosylby Fay - Tea Room
... and I hope you will write many more. :) Love your Mrs. Bennet. Her terrorizing Colonel Fitzwilliam was too funny. Everything was too funny! ~Fayby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I love the epilogue though. Wickham's fate is awesome. And Darcy and Elizabeth are so, so sweet. Thank you for sharing with us, ~Fayby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
As long as we're on the subject of books about Math/Science... Zero by Charles Seife. Fascinating read. My grade 8 teacher recommended this for me and I still remember the main ideas... it was so thought-provoking (and unexpectedly humourous). It's really easy to breeze through, a pretty thin, lightweight book. Great diagrams too. And I also remember I felt so clever when Seife talked about stuby Fay - Tea Room
(:D I love Anne to pieces, always did and always will, and I Capture the Castle is wonderful. Another long-time, classic favourite is Louisa May Alcott's Little Women. :) Other reads that absolutely make the experience FLY by are, as others have already recommended, the massively popular and fast-paced Harry Potter and Hunger Games series. Are you and she also open to short stories? Some ofby Fay - Tea Room
This is so deliciously canon-ish even though the setting is completely different! I like how you even included the line about keeping one's breath to swell one's song. :) Looking forward to the next! Thank you, ~Fayby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Poor pestered Bingley!! And Darcy, baffled and indignant. Then flustered, jealous, and finally, adorably, over-the-moon. "She said yes!" ACK. SO CUTE. I am kind of incoherent over the cuteness of it all. I love this. Thank you so much, ~Fayby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
I just caught up with your story -- what a gem!! LOL, this is too funny. I love it. Darcy is oblivious and hilarious and adorable. Thanks so much, ~Fayby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
QuoteMaybe D & E will wake up from a dream, where they realize they are married to Collins & Miss Bingley. Haha, I think something like that happened in a story once, didn't it? with Miss Bingley and Mr. Wickham. :-P I agree wholeheartedly though! Were this a book, I would NOT have stopped reading after this chapter either. But then, to be fair, I would not have stopped reading after anby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
QuoteAn oink shared is an oink halved. HAHAHA! Charlie, I love you. Also ROFL @ Lizzy comparing William to a limpet! Thanks for posting. ~Fayby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Sweet, funny, and satisfying! Well, you certainly saved my Sunday evening from ennui. ;) Thanks for this! ~Fayby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
A/N: Happy Sunday, it’s me! As always, thanks for the continued support. It was hard to get the cast to talk to me since last time, but once they did, Mr. Wickham had plenty to say. 8-) I hope you all enjoy this chapter. Humouring Fate Chapter 6 Acting upon a call and invitation given by Mr. Phillips, the next evening saw Mr. Wickham calling upon the Phillips’ at a suitable hour. Quote“You could have tried to phone one of us,” Lizzy said. “Why didn't you?” “I didn't think of it,” Mrs Bennet said. “I was too worried. - Anyway, I hope your dinner isn't spoilt.” The Mrs. Bennet brand of logic. LOL! Love it. And I guess it wasn't long at all before Michael Fitzwilliam-Darcy managed to come off as a jerk to Lizzy. As always. :P Thanks for posting & looking forward toby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Of course I feel the tiniest bit betrayed by this news -- I think all of us do -- like the feeling you get when the gas station nearby suddenly starts charging money for pumping air into tires. (:P) But I don't begrudge you the chance for publishing your story. It certainly deserves publishing. I will miss seeing the Beautiful Friendship team frequent DWG, but I'll always be glad I had the chanceby Fay - Tea Room
A/N: Back in country & DWG. :-) Thank you for the kind comments last chapter, and I hope you enjoy ch. 5! Humouring Fate Chapter 5 Mr. Collins was punctual to his time, and was received with great politeness by the whole family. He was a tall, heavy looking man of five and twenty, with a grave and stately air, and very formal manners. He had not been long seated before he complimeby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Yay, almost there! Just a little more, Elizabeth, until your happily ever after. ;) I liked the discussion/comparison of Lydia B. and Georgiana D. Besides the obvious 180o shift personality-wise, the two girls are rather eerily similar, what with their entanglement with Wickham and ages and well-formed figures, blah blah. So it was interesting to ponder what made their circumstances so differentby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
LOL at Mr. Bennet laughing at nervous, fidgety Darcy. So cute! And I liked that the half hour was put to some good use, he did somewhat bond with his future daddy-in-law, after all. :) Maybe Mr. Bennet's acceptance of D was a little quick, but it was sweet. I kinda got a little teary when he called him 'son'... Thanks for this, ~Fayby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Did you say all the P&P characters are going to be in this choir? Sounds like fun! :) Love this beginning, and excited to see where you take this story! Thanks for sharing, ~Fayby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Hi again, Wickham. Well, good on Darcy for socking him one. :P Can I hit him too? Though I suppose I'll have to get in line. I've wanted to hit him every time he turned up. Maybe that will be Wickham's fate? Starting his own Whack-A-Mole business, Whack-A-Wicky. I think it's catchy. ;) I am glad Elizabeth is starting to figure out what a gem she's found in the love of a man like Darcy. Waiting fby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
OK, so thanks to you I have an inexplicable urge to scour the fanfiction-base for Georgiana-centric sequels featuring (reformed!)Tom Bertram. This pairing is well on its way to being inducted into Fay's personal canon, LOL. For now, though, I'm content to squeal at this Georgie/Tye story like the crazy fangirl that I am. So you realize you have a circle of BFFs here in the fandom? BFF, Beautifuby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
A/N: Aaannnd, back to Humouring Fate. Happy Saturday! ;) I’m actually leaving for vacay in four hours (!!!) so. Super excited but not sure when ch. 5 will get done. Thanks for the continued support. ~*~ Humouring Fate Chapter 4 Elizabeth, focused on her needlework, could not stifle a small, amused smile at the dialogue playing out across from her. Mr. Darcy was writing to his sister,by Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Quotewhen Sir William Lucas told him that he was carrying off the jewel of Hertfordshire, he actually shrugged in his face Loved this line, and the small but huge difference from the exact same line in canon. IMO it shows neatly how post-Hunsford Darcy differs in a key respect from pre-Hunsford Darcy. Subtle yet effective! I am glad Elizabeth got herself across to Darcy. Also looking forward toby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Heh... Rosings, Netherfield Park, same thing. :P It is because I was all, I AM ABOVE PROOFREADING, only not really. Lol. Sorry. Like I said, just one more reason not to archive. I didn't want this archived because... well, it's just a silly one-shot and I'm not sure I want this pinned to my profile forever, haha. I'm not going to demand it be taken down or anything though so it'll still be accesby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Hahaha, that's pretty awesome. And no, I haven't. It's hilarious though, I especially liked: QuoteFitzwilliam Darcy is proposing to Elizabeth Bennet. It is not going well. :-/ The face says it all. When writing "Wall Posts", I really found myself longing to do the status updates/FB drama of other characters in P&P, so felt the limitations of a Darcy POV acutely. Thanks for sharing this lby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Heheh... yes. They definitely went back to Netherfield that last time. But yours truly cheated by copying and pasting most of the bulky html formatting, and forgot to change stuff near the end, I guess. One more reason not to archive. :P Thanks! ~Fayby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
A/N: Hi! So… this is how Fay celebrates the end of term, apparently. LOL. I had fun writing this! (psst, for those who care: the next chapter of Humouring Fate is also coming soon to a message board near you. ;)) Not sure either if a disclaimer is necessary here, but to be safe – I don’t own Facebook. :P WARNING: should not be taken seriously. Contains: some weirdness, lots of silliness, and eveby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
Feeling bad for both leads, but Wickham is out of the picture now. Right? Or maybe not, he might have some other mischievous scheme in mind... though at the very least, he won't be perpetually popping out of the shrubbery like a particularly annoying jack-in-the-box anymore. One may hope, anyway. Thank you for posting another great chapter, ~Fayby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
So I just handed in a final OMG-this-is-worth-half-my-grade paper, and was treating myself to a break from my self-imposed exile from JAFF, courtesy of hectic end-of-term season. And boy am I glad! Firstly, shout out to all. So happy you’re enjoying the story and liked the extra scene! I am also looking forward to how Lydia Darcy will interact with the characters when she comes into the heart oby Fay - Derbyshire Writers' Guild
