Amy: There are so many. Being cooped up in the snow I recommend something light, low angst, and kind of fun. Try "Darcy Changes Tactics." or Miss Bennet and the Frog. Stay safe and warm.

You aren't going to throw a devious turn of events, re: Blake and Morecroft, are you? I understood Blake to have left the estate and Morecroft in an opiate induced sleep, but how did Blake (?) come to be injured by the fire? Please don't tell me Morecroft will resurrect himself, and if so just who was killed by the fire?

Welcome to the wonderful world of Austen. The other reason for the separation of the sexes after the meal, besides a brandy snifter or two, was so that the men could smoke, which is something the women were not allowed to do. On that point the ladies were more fortunate then the men. There is a story at another site which has a delightful scene at their 'club' where Darcy, Bingley, the Colon
