I think these two, both seemingly congenial, intelligent people should be able to form a good relationship and have as good a chance as any to moving to affection, respect, and ultimately love. I once heard someone from an Indian background say that Western marriage starts with a boiling pot that then sits and cools, where arranged marriages might start cold but they are put on to simmer...
Still, I keep on having the elided '...repent at leisure' sound in my mind, and can't feel quite secure.
I can't say how much the assumed authority of patriachy is bristling me within this story. Sir George might have good motives and a pleasant manner, but it's just so controlling.
