I'm somewhat late in commenting but I'm always happy to see another story from you!
I love the way you create a helpful network of strong and honourable characters for those who are in need, and your previous heroes and heroines fit into this role admirably. So now we have the O'Tooles as well as the Hasely family to be sorted out. I loved the way Chris and Emma (and the Chisterleys) helped the Irish orphans, especially Emma's tact in providing Fennella with a gown. She's learned a lot since being the spoiled brat a few stories ago!
Ah, rheumatic fever. I'm sorry you had to bear it in reality - and I'm glad you wrote in an innovative physician to apply an effective treatment. Antibiotics were too far into the future, but antiinflammatory medicine was available.
I look forward to Grace's story unfolding!
