Ah, such a delight in so many ways. Mr. Bennet in canon is a mixed character and leaves one pondering whether he is more of a danger to his family than his silly wife, who is irritating but hardly seems to be able to do better given that she is not too bright.
Here you give us a Mr. Bennet who rises to the occasion as we hope he might each time we read P&P--and, of course, he never quite does. This is soothing and fantasy-fulfilling, as he knows what is right and even shows his headstrong favorite daughter the right of it. Thank you!
