Okay, dear author, I have to admit that I am confused.
Are we supposed to assume from this that the maze has resulted in melding the two Wickhams into a single person, who remembers both Georgiana and Lydia? You refer to a Wickham who sees both of the little girls, Mattie and Annie, as his. How did that happen? Did the maze allow one Wickham to travel to the other side, where he had his way with Georgiana and was then tossed back into the maze to return to a world with Lydia? It is really hard to follow that timeline so maybe I am reaching. Or, is it some metaphysical trick that actually merges two Wicks into one, who does not realize that his memories are of two different lives?
Or do you have something else in mind?
