You bring out an interesting point about the progression of Darcy's opinion of Jane. At first he feels justified but guilty about dissuading Bingley against her ("I know I have done a great service for my friend. I just wish I did not feel so filthy"), but he views her call upon the Bingley sisters as unseemly, as her conniving to get Bingley despite not caring for him, thus justifying Darcy's earlier actions. I hadn't thought of that before.
